  5. a big tarp, and dry stuff to ware. it some times rains.
  6. The glass on the strakes was prefab from the factory and I did NOT do anything to it other than prep sand and clean with denatured alchohol(DA). It has been mentioned that DA may contain some contaminants unique to each brand. The only other potential source I can think of is the duct tape I applied when I did my "false" bonding of the strake top to the strake (in which I then popped off, twice, to get a good fit). that is the secant time i have read that the glass would not stick or cure. we all mite want to see the brand of 200 mile tape we are using i did it, but blamed my mix
  7. OK, but with the 20b i dont think i'll make it back..........can i stop for fuel at N vagas ?
  8. i looks like shimmy, you can see smoke and the backing plate still in the pic.it looks like it just shook off the strut...imo
  9. what he said ! ty Chirs for playing
  10. the stock cozy will fit out a 7x8if you add the cg strakes i dont think it will. left strake high, nose down, then roll it out with a engine lift(watch the lip)
  11. coming from the mod squad, that is funny !but true ! simple and lite and fast i did up to the straiks with 1/2 the 2 car (easy to heat) but then down came the curtain. and up went the heat bill (WA.) you will need the 2 car at some point

  13. how did the glass look under the top skin ? did it shine a little or was it dull? is there any spots the flaked off that was dull (like it was just sanded ?) it it all the same thikness ? or some thin and some thick (ie the thin failed and the thick worked) was the epoxy dry all the way befor the jeffco or was it fresh as in it could have moved and or glossed off ?? more tips plz sorry to here this. you wanted to look in side any way:o and so did i:bad:
  14. it was shiped out today and in 5 to 10 days he will depart for home (via phone call)
  15. i know of 3, good start but a slow finish. in 5 years......nothing so, good luck and the sooner you stop typing and start building the faster you will hit the spot that seams to bite. just after the frame is done (with 14 unsolved problems) and its time to spend the big buck on the drive train.
  16. is this your own set up ? or are you moding a long ?looks very good so far:) do you speak English and can i Skyp you?
  17. i think doing the straik bulk heads would be easy (and cheap). then when you get home you could start the jig and then fuel tanks. the nose, for the most part would be easy but the top(i think) should be contoured as one from the tip to the canopy sides. so you would or mite need to wait. all the cs stuff is fast and easy. but the girls do all the work, all you do is pay for it but you could spend a day or two installing it. look at the girls page on how they did there straks, kinda cool i mired them but went one step farther and didn't flip the plane, but i glassed one side of the tank skins to insure no leaks in the foam
  18. is that true? i think i saw nat say that it was not a lifting body, more over not the straks (bad air off the canard)lots of stuff about flat plate lift but no lifting force. or i got into neverquits beer and made it all up !
  19. 1" forward of seat back on longeronstrick was with the right side you need to run a bar in the seat and behind the seat over to the left side (see the way the girls did theres). i had the push car stile and loved them but one time it came open so i figured there would be flex at times and the dumb things mite let go, so in the trash that system went .
  20. i had made 4 plans j hooks two in front and two at the rearthe geometry of the close was a thing to see. but many things had to be reworked and it would end-up being high maintaining i started over from scratch 3 times and now have only two plans type j hooks and it works good.
