AREOCARD -COZY • $2,500

Looks clunky to me but might be worth the price.  Wild guess that we are seeing the work of a second owner (who can't spell "AeroCanard").  Maybe a third owner can beautify it.  The flat nose is pretty ugly and it would hinder adding & removing ballast in the nose which is necessary.  Pretty hard to work on a nose-lift device through those small access hatches.  Holes for the aileron torque tubes are drilled through the centerspar versus where they normally go (pic).  Not deadly but not cool either.  Torque tube seems to block the side of the fuselage where a storage area is normally cut-out and there is no cutout in the front-cockpit either.  It could all be fixed if the original work is sound.  Noses can be cutoff and rebuilt.  He probably has $10K-$15K in material at this point.

What is a "Task Strake" ? and why is it important that the Canopy was done with West Systems.  Ive used West System on boats why is it notable for a Canopy?

Stake made but Task, not built by an individual.

Pretty sure they're just telling you West was the epoxy used, so you know the material choice. Someone will come in if it's more important than that...

2500.00 for the q2/q200 complete kil. It'd be hard to find one still halfway packaged up in original packaging from factory. Please read my other posts and look at pictures.  I need to clear it out. I'm sure those carbon fiber spars are worth that. (posted by Wade Arfsten)

Those are so rare I’m really curious what it’ll go for. Wish I could afford it.

I know @Jon Matcho is working on digitizing, verifying, and making available the Defiant plans in the same manner as the Open-EZ.  I found an electronic copy of the plans minus the templates, which are really important to have printed accurately.  From a couple of conversations I've had, it sounds like building a Defiant is roughly twice the time and cost of building a Long-EZ.  It's pretty darn big for a homebuilt.

Yep, but better than the initial Open-EZ setup. More like how the Quickie plans were put together (with proper rulers). The Defiant plans have 'actual size' drawings sprinkled throughout, so the scaling and accuracy is important.

Thanks for the mention -- Open-EZ improvements are still in the queue after a bunch of Forum housekeeping.

"Last chance until I start parting it out" - a Long-EZ project with all materials and parts for the airframe, minus the canopy, for $6,850.  Fuselage done including center-section spar and main gear, and it looks like the noze gear has also been done.  No photos of a wing or canard. https://www.facebook.com/commerce/listing/544711904543566/

That’s a neat project. Hope he is able to complete it. There’s really nothing like the defiant out there in the e/ab world besides the velocity twin, sorta.

I couldn’t scratch build one. too old, no space
