Make certain the person is the person on the FAA registry - if not you will (maybe) have a chain of custody challenge. These scammers (if in aviation) know this and actually set up fake emails and fake facebook accounts with that persons name - they can even spoof the number they call you from to make it that person! Sometimes things like this are legit - but I would never send any money until you actually put hands on it and met the person - in person. (heck - even then check their drivers license! These scammers are getting REAL good at their trickery! I even had one be so bold and call me out on a forum saying I was delaying the sale to someone else! If they say they NEED a deposit before you meet... get those hairs raising. (they will tell you they have had 100 people calling and you just happen to be the first... (of course they say that to the other 99). I wish the world would be a better place, but we just have to deal with it... it will get worse before it gets better.
