It was sitting outside at K0A3 for about 6 months and hadn't flown for longer. I don't know how extensive the corrosion is inside the motor, but it will get fixed. It went for considerably less than $27k. I don't plan on changing it much, except for losing the vacuum system for G5s and ADSB out. Leaned out to 4.5 gph and didn't lose much speed and that was prior to the dual electronic ignition install. I'm skeptical, to say the least, although there might be some fool out there who doesn't know enough not to pay that much for a Long-EZ. Could be worth $45K, depending upon actual engine condition. Oh, and BTW, of course it's illegal to "lease" or rent E-AB aircraft. Then the "seller" says, I NEED to sell this (aka first sign of scam - heightened urgency) - and says if they velmo or cash app $5k he will hold it for you to review all the paperwork and come pick it up with the balance in cash or bank check... One transfers the deposit thinking they just got a FANTASTIC deal - a $95k plane for ONLY $35k... To never hear from "the seller" again after the $5k transfer is complete. an example that my friend showed me (he is a cop interested in aviation and he said there is little that can be done). PLEASE be careful out there - these bad actors are becoming more and more clever and frequent. They obviously have no moral compass. (not to say THIS Long-EZ is not built to perfection and the photos are just not very good and this person actually believes it is worth this much.... but, I feel this might be one of those scams) M. I mean, it has N56EZ on the instrument panel, and it sure appears to have been well-used, but never registered? Or maybe it was deregistered once upon a time?
