A turn needle is a straight-forward instrument that shows yaw or rate of turn. If the T.N. stays straight up, you are not turning, i.e. wings level (you could be yawing but with rudders neutral, probably not), but a T.C. shows roll as well as turn. If you are bumping around in the clouds trying to keep control with a partial panel, the T.C. seems to react a lot more to inadvertent rolling. I found it confusing. With a T.N. you just needed to keep the needle centered and the wings will stay level. Also, when you are used to flying an attitude instrument, the T.C. looks like it is showing attitude, hence the caution note on the face of the T.C. With a T.N. there is no doubt that you are not seeing attitude so you look somewhere else for it, like the altimeter or VVI. If I had the second airplane I would put in a turn & slip indicator; better yet, a small Dynon or Garmin EFIS. Kent Ashton
This Q2 from Barnstormers. Pics of unopened boxes in the ad. Here's something fun to contemplate: $9928 invested at 5%/year in 1982 would be $60,376 today. Nevertheless that's water-under-the-bridge. I imagine a Q2 kit today with engine would run at least $25,000. QUICKIE Q2 KIT • $5,000 • AVAILABLE FOR SALE • Am selling a Quickie Q2 kit along with an engine. The kit was purchased in 1982 and it is still in its original boxes. It was purchased by my father who is currently 95. He kept the kit and the engine (modified VW) in storage without doing a lick of work on it. The engine is unopened in its original box. The kit is $5000 and the engine is $2500. • Contact Dan Young, Owner - located Madison, WI United States • Telephone: 715-305-7057 • Posted July 17, 2019 Quote -KentCozy IV N13AM-750 hrs, Long-EZ-85 hrs and sold

Kent Ashton
This ugly Dragonfly wreck on ebay today. N192AP Here is the FAA crash report https://www.aircraftone.com/aircraft/accidents/20001213x33235.asp The accident was 33 years ago! Quote ON HIS FIRST FLIGHT IN THIS TYPE OF HOMEBUILT THE PILOT ENCOUNTERED WHAT HE SAID WAS WINDSHEAR ON FINAL APPROACH FOR HIS FIRST LANDING. HE ADDED POWER AND THE AIRCRAFT PITCHED UP 30 DEGREES. HE PUSHED DOWN ON THE STICK AND THE AIRCRAFT PITCHED DOWN VIOLENTLY. HE ADDED FULL POWER AND THE AIRCRAFT PITCHED UP AGAIN. THE NOSE FELL THROUGH VIOLENTLY AGAIN AND THE LEFT WING STRUCK THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT THEN SLID TO A STOP. HE ALSO STATED THAT THIS WAS HIS FIRST FLIGHT IN ANY AIRCRAFT IN ELEVEN MONTHS. Yeah, right, "windshear". More likely just a PIO close to the runway. Interesting list of D-fly accidents here and an ominous caution about landing characteristics. http://hiwaay.net/~bzwilson/dragonfly/DF_Accidents.html. I would describe it as "rough around the edges". Tom's a great guy who is very resourceful. He built the plane on a budget. Everything is basic. Empty weight on the placard was 1100lbs. The biggest obstacle is the unpickled engine. I have about two dozen pictures of the plane if anyone is interested.

That plane MIGHT go for $25K, since it's got a relatively newer panel and a nice paint job. I'd be worried about the absurd nose and extra strakes from a stability standpoint, and the MGL equipment that almost makes a good engine monitor, with the other steam gages in the panel. Holes in the panel, no labels for switches, CB's, manual nose gear, no landing gear strut fairings, but sure - WTF - ask $50K. Be amazed when you get no offers... 1 Quote Marc J. pilothicks
Should have guess Marc would be the first to comment. People are funny how they are quick to condemn too. Are you going to condemn its a varieze too Marc? You could just ask questions instead of condemning everything. It has labels since that picture. The nose is only 10-12" longer than stock. It looks longer than it is. Extensive tests were done. What you don't see is the full lower winglets. The mgl is a great monitor. I put it in from other ez guys recommendations. Find another varieze this weight. Then redu the plane top to bottom. Then pay to have someone put a new nose, strake extensions, paint and panel. And tell me how your 25k you bought the origial varieze for is still a 25k airplane? Yes im asking 50. But I will also entertain offers. I have more than that in it. People deserve the right to post whatever price they are asking, just like Marc has a freedom of speech to act like an ass on a regular basis. Jenate
I listed my long ez for $95k a while back and got 3 separate offers for $90k and decided not to sell. There are small pieces of cardboard that have sold for millions called baseball cards. Value is solely dependent on what 1 person is willing to pay and not based on the opinion of the masses. Value is driven by those who write the checks. Period. So if Jamie gets $50k for his Varieze then good for him. Not our job to chime in on value unless we are prepared to pony up the cash or have been hired by a prospective buyer to value it based on personal opinion at the request of the buyer Best of luck with the sale Jamie.
