If I see you at a fly-in or anybody that looks vaguely like you avator...i'll be windwalking the other way...

And you use of Barney...sealed it.

Self confessed Wingnut.

Now think about it...wouldn't you rather LIVE your life, rather than watch someone else's, on Reality T.V.?

Get up off that couch!!! =)

Progress; Fuselage on all three, with outside and inside nearly complete. 8 inch extended nose. FHC done. Canard finished. ERacer wings done with blended winglets. IO540 starting rebuild. Mounting Spar. Starting strake ribs.

Greetings All!

I am a machinist, a Celtic musician, and a bagpipe maker and teacher. As I have also been an aviation enthusiast since I was a fetus, I also have a commercial licence, a multi-IFR rating, and a class 4 instructor rating. (All expired at the moment) At one time I intended to fly for a living, but I got de-railed by life.

I am in the "planning" stages of building a Cozy MKIV.

I haven't yet bought the plans, but I have succeeded in convincing my better half of the idea, with the help of my children. (The kids are totally stoked about it!)

My family and I currently own a duplex with no garage, but my wife and I intend to buy a single family home within the next year. (My stipulation: It must have a double garage!)

I tried to come up with a more colorful user name for my posts, but every idea I came up with made my wife physically sick! Finally, she looked at me with exaggerated sympathy, and asked "Why don't you just use Graham?" I agreed, as that is, conveniently, my name.

Looking forward to chatting with you all throughout my homebuilding journey!

Cheers!

I reside in Jacksonville, FL, which is where I washed up on the beach when I retired from the US Navy (ETC(SS)). I've been a pilot for more than 40 years (CMEL/INST/CFI). I started a LongEZ way back in 1984 (I think - that was a long time ago!), but had to part with it. Assisted a friend with his Defiant - very interested in the OpenEZ Twin. Since that doesn't appear to be a reality yet, I will most likely start an OpenEZ in the foreseeable future. In the meantime, I do have a daily flyer - a 1952 Piper Tripacer. Always willing to talk airplanes, and would very much like to get in touch with any EZ builders in the area. I can be reached at pj260@bellsouth.net

Ok I've lurked long longanuf No I havent built a canard but have built a plane I just put the wing in the wrong place... I am going to start on a open ez of some shape or form in the next months now that I have a spot to work and some money burning a hole in my pockets.

With lots of luck and help from folks like the fine ones here I plan to be airbourne before I'm to old to keep my medical.

Hello everyone My name is Robert Wieczorek, I live very near Yosemite national park and I am looking for fellow builders near my area. The closest large city is Fresno California. I would like to visit and learn more about the canard aircraft.

I am rebuilding an existing project and want to start out right. I have built a plans RV6a and I have been flying it for 3 years. But the RV has limited room and is not comfortable in long flights. I am looking forward to meeting new friends and flying this new aircraft.

Fly down to Tehachapi. I've got a COZY MKIV I can show you and a couple of Long-EZ's in the shop (as well as a Quickie Q1, but that's hardly roomier than an RV6A). email me directly to set up a visit.

Hi Al, I am in central NJ.  Right now I am stalled with the cold and too many projects, but looking to change that in 2017.  I have a Quickie Tri-Q200 I am repairing, a Cozy IV project as my long-term, but some composite work due on a friend's Glasair III at the moment.

Hello All. I am Jay Van Every. I am a family man of 20yrs, C-130 Engineer, hobby machinist, car nut, plane nut, and somebody that has way too many projects. I am in the process of getting rid of most of them so I can start an Open-EZ. I am poring over the Open-EZ data, TERF CD plans, and redlining the plans with all the canard pushers. I figure building a plane would be a lot more fun if I already had one to fly, so I have a 182 I fly and maintain, both on a regular basis.

I am looking for buddies in the DFW area as I've only seen a Long in the flesh once, and have never flown one. Anyone around north Texas want to give a Vet a ride?

To fill in the blanks,  I am retired and living LArkspur ,CO.  I went to work for McDonnell Douglas and Boeing as a test pilot after a 25 year career  in the military, USMC. Loved the Long Eze when it came out and built N33X with first flight in 1987.  N33X is a long nose O-320 powered chariot. LOL. Originally had an O-235, but got involved the RACE events and had the “need for speed” bug bite.

i was not flying for awhile due to cardiac issues the FAA didn’t like.  Glad the rules have changed.

Currently building a Cozy MK4.  I love flying, but I also really enjoy the satisfaction of building.  My Cozy, I guess I will need a new name, is wider and longer since I prefer to not be quite as “cozy” as Nat made it.  I have several inches and a few pounds on Nat, LOL.

Hope to meet many of you at events to come.

Sounds like an interesting build, Mike. My 'Not Quite So Cozy' is wider and longer than stock as well - just finishing up the fuselage tub now. It is true what they say, make one change and the change affects so many other things! I don't mind, that's half the fun to me.

Hi Mike.  I am building a Cozy Mark IV as well but with only a widened rear (following AeroCanard's lead) and not planning on deviating from the plans much at all beyond that.

I am looking forward to following your progress!

I’m in love with the idea of a Berkut!

I suspect most canard folks were at some point (or still are!)! They tend to be hard to come by, though.
