  1. How about some update photo's T?
  2. Ya it's all out there on cd, I jsut have to buy it. The thing I'd like is the carbon spar, and I think that's about 2k. I'd also like some full size templates for the wing and canard.
  3. Hey guys I just picked up my Q-200 kit, they lost the manuals so now I'm focusing on accumulating glass, MGS and all the other associate hardware. I'm even closer to being a builder. -Guy
  4. I was just gifted a Q-200. I'll be picking it up soon. I won't have any problem keeping the shop and garage warm, so I should be able to work through my winters here in N. Utah. I'm hoping for a three year build. It was an abandoned project before the ls-1 foil and other mods that made it a better plane. It isn't the Mark 4 I wanted to build but as they say....the price was right. And it's still fast. -Guy
  5. Yep and that is one *****en sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet piece of work! -Guy

In either case it is still the beautifull workmanship we tune in for. Keep it up at this rate you should be in the air buy sept 08. Max addition over golf tubes cant be more than 5 or 6 oz. -Guy

Tony, It's official..... you have been highjacked! -Guy
  8. It's funny, I just got the go ahead to pick up my first home built, a Q200, so naturally I'm trying to figure out how to go about it. I'm 37 and I havn't logged any hours scince I was 22 I think, and still have not soloed. So I'm thinkin', just what's gonna get me building time the fastest? A subaru, a mazda, a corvair, nope, probably gonna be an o-235. For the Q200, I really like the corvair but there just is not enough of a track record for me to fiddle dic around with it. I want to fly my own plane before I'm 40. I figure I'll go mod happy on my M-IV after I have a flying airplane to build time in. I'm choosing the 0-235 because I need it, I live over a mile high and my stip is almost a mile high. You think I ought to plan on a c/s to go with that? -Guy

Tony, I think that there actually all building. I personally have just procured a vintage design, a Q200 as it turns out I would be building too if I didn't have to schedual a trip to Cal to pick it up. You are not a nut job, well not totally. I mean outside of building an airplane in your garage. I have done a bunch of fixet stuff, and there ain't no way in hell I would fly that thing with what you've shown us. So, KUDOS for not taking any short cuts. I would have done the same thing, Especially if I intended to put a 540 on it. -Guy
  10. At one time, when, it seemed that Mark was picking on me, I thought of him as Darth Zeitlin. Now after spewing forth rivers of protien water (loose weight you must) I think of him more as Yoda. Emmmmm lycoming you must, build - not type you must emmmm. Funny thing is, after reading for hours on end KISS seems to be the only way to get in the air. I wish that there were a cheap plug and fly alternative, but it seems like if you really want to consistantly fly from coast to coast their just are not many* other viable power plants. To those of you who continue to develop, I salute you. Use the force you must mmmmmmmmmmmm. *m- optional -Guy
  11. Try the Corvair weight is about the same or less than a Lyc or Cont. It's proven, and puts out 125 reliable horses. It's balanced and is a direct drive-no expensive psru's. Stock forged crank and rods. It'll cruise along at 35-4500 all day long. Total cost to build a trick bomb proof mill less than 5k. http://www.flycorvair.com/ -GuyL]
  12. This is a question that I want to know as well for my upcomming prodject. I have heard that the NACA is very sensative and must be totaly dialed in to work properly. Is it all that much more aerodynamic than a scoop? -Guy
  13. So guys, what are the details on the fuel pods under the strakes, and also what's with sump's in the rear seat area. whats the total extra gallon wise on those mods? To date what is the most Lyc hp safely hung on the back of the Cozy. On the extra fuel storage, is it more trouble than it's worth, you know in terms of pumps etc? What is the upper design limit on streight line cruise speed for a plans built airframe w/a big or pumped Lyc? -Guy
  14. Thanx for the invite, I'll swing up asap, time allowing. I'll be sure to call first Oddly enough BASE is the only thing I'm aware of the Mrs.'s will not approve of, and to be honest I'm just to chicken for that anyway. -Guy PM me contact info
