Waiter got it just about right. DaveB & I have flown for I think over 2 hours. The first time I was in back it was a little uncomfortable. But after you get use to setting and squirming around, it's very doable and enjoyable. But you have to WANT to be in back. I'm about 5'10" and vary between 200 to 220 lbs so it's a COZY fit.

Waiter, That's fantastic. Where are you keeping the plane based. I may have to fly and visit you sometime. Or better yet you can fly down and visit me!

I've followed the girls instructions as close as possible, but still haven't had a lot of success. I do have the exact same pump. The few times I've tried it the layup comes out dry. To the extent you can see the weave and actually suck air through it. The parts to turn out to be very conformed. I haven't figured out what I've been doing wrong, but I really haven't tried it that much.

From memory.... (disclaimer meaning I could be wrong) I overlaped both the bottom and sides onto the front face of F22. I think I let mine completely overhand into the F22 openings and then flush trimmed them later. Maybe a tiny bit of extra weight, but simple to trim up later with a router or fein. Make sure you sand the 1" wide depression in the side and bottom before putting sanding the radius. Otherwise you'll just have to sand the radius again. not a big deal. You are hardly removing any glass at all with a 3/16 radius. I don't see any issue. Build on.... Let me go sniffle in a corner while I suffer building withdrawls.

American Airlines canceled our flight then rebooked us in coach after the company paid full fare for Business. Not Happy. Then at Indy, two of our checked bags had their wheels completely destroyed. Gone not even arrived. The baggage clerk said there is nothing they can do. Wheels aren't covered. Oh just wait tell I file a complaint.... (where's the evil grin) Overall happy to be home. I had a 6 foot straight edge. Just as Tmann suggested. It was 2" solid extrusion from the local Aluminum supplier. I think I paid $10 Austratlian. Lifesamsara (Bruce) took that off my hands. Now that I'm back on my home sole, I need to go his another.

Actually we're very well positioned to work through this. The only debt we have is a $8k student loan for my wife that is about $130 a month. full stop. Sold the house and cars when we moved abroad. And we have a reasonable saving that we were hoping to use for a down payment on a house. Even before the news of the severance, we've planned to live with my in-laws while we settle back in. That will probably just be extended now. So our living expenses going forward will be very low. We're in a whole lot better position this most in this circumstance. Yes & No. I'm not going to set home and draw unemployment. My Dad & Father-In-Law both have small business. I'll work for them to bring in a little cash. As for your implying that I could build, that is certainly a possibility. Even given current conditions, I'd feel comfortable taking a grand out of the saving to start building the Canard. Or think of all the metal bits I could build when your time rich and money poor. And I have a small metal lathe that's fun to use. I work for the world largest manufacture of submersible electric pumps and motors. If you have a water well, there's a 90% chance you have our motor. I hold an engineering title, but I'm no engineer. I have a management degree in Entrepreneurship. I have the engineering title because of the type of work I do. I take care of any type of technical concern that a customer has. I teach and troubleshoot the use and application of our motors. Everything I know about motors and electricity was taught to me by the company. My value is in the ability to see the big picture and solve problems and relay that to the customer. My job level doesn't require an engineering degree, that's for those people actually designing the things. I would not have a clue how to do that. So basically I solve problems and know how to explain that to the average installer in the field. I would not dare let most of our design engineers talk to the average laymen. ouch. I think Marc would be a mild example of this. I have a huge amount of respect for Marc, but sometimes his method can come across too strong for some newbies. But you know what, he's good at what he does. I like what I do/did. I enjoy the customer interaction and challenge. I enjoy the public speaking. I presented 27 day-long training seminars in the last year. I wouldn't mind staying in the water systems business. For the most part it is a very stable and profitable industry. But I've learn to what for any opportunity and jump on the good ones. That's how I ended up living in Australia for 3 years by saying yes at the right time. So for starters, I'll be keeping an ear open for any sort of management, troubleshooting, problem-solving, training type roles, but I'm extremely flexible. We had hoped and planned on moving back to Bluffton, IN. That's were our friends are and close to our families. But finding a job with reasonable pay in the region will probably be tough. One of my old coworkers had over 40 years in with the company. He did his apprenticeship with the company. He was canned in January. ouch. Yep. I think they are being a little shortsighted about the consequences. Don't do that I still have stock in the company. Although it half of what it use to be.

... on a boat. I've finished up Chapter 8. Now it's in a container with the rest of our stuff on the way back home. The good news is that we're being transferred home. The really crappy news is that I'm going home to unemployment. I've already been told that there are no jobs available within the company so their terminating me. What a fine reward for moving over seas and then training my replacement. Crap. So work on Cozy1200 may be a little slow for a while. anyone hiring around NE Indiana?

I've flown with Dave several times in this LEZ. I'm occasionally that GIB. Seeing that Dave hasn't bother to wake up this morning , here's want I know of the issues. - It is definitely full forward trim. He can trim all the way forward and it's just not enough. His inquiries to the previous owners revealed that it has always been that way. We have discussed shortening the existing springs to add more tension. Before doing this Dave ordered in a spare set of springs. That way if the original 20 year old springs break, then the new ones can go on without waiting for them to be ordered. -W&B. I know DaveB & his lame (A&P) maintain the plane to a very high level. Anytime something needs done, Dave has no problem spending the time & money to do it right. So Dave will have a current W&B and he does do the pre-flight calcs regularly. -Buffeting. Hmm. Dave, is that new? I don't recall that from our conversations. sorry for stepping on you Dave, but thought I would help stop some of the speculations.

I'm a frugal person. When renting the C150 I would turn the master on, program the radios, gps, check ATIS, etc. Why pay $85 an hour to do stuff that doesn't require the engine to be running. I'd spend several minutes doing so un-rushed because it was essentially free. That was until I learned the Hobbs ran off the Master switch not the oil pressure. I was paying $85 an hour and not burning any fuel!! ouch. ok, change strategy.... program radio & GPS while speed taxiing!! no, not really. Now I typically rent a C172 with the Hobbs running off oil pressure.

Yep. The LSA market is neat hear in OZ. From what I understand of them, they broader than the US LSA regulation, even allowing retracts.
