  1. I think that would be the most awesome ever wall hanging, nice job!
  2. OK, I have some long ones that are 0.001" oversized so I cannot use them in the tubes, I will see if I have a mandrel to hold them while I shorten them. Now that the CNC Bridgeport is running the angle brackets are a no-brainer. ...Chrissi
  3. "Oxnard traffic, Orion TS taking off runway 27 departing abruptly to the north..."
  4. You English is great, we just are poor listeners =)Our coloqueal English goes: -Good job -Great job! -Good workmanship -Great workmanship! -OMG! that's like freaking awesome, do you take credit cards? ...Chrissi
  5. Pass the data on to Steven James for his CNC hotwire. If you reverse the parts, would they nest for shipping? ...Chrissi
  6. Which ones are you talking about, the bushings that get pressed into the tubes or the ones that get pressd into the angle brackets? ...Chrissi
  7. I saw the mockup at one Osh and the new gear JD made for it. http://www.infinityaerospace.com/Oriion_TS_gear.jpg Then a couple years later I saw one just like it but under a different name being offered as plans and a kit in a tent at osh. Just build a Defiant with two IO-360's on the back, put a nice bizjet nose on the front and stretch to make a 6 passenger model out of it. See..I've done all the hard work for you already ...Chrissi
  8. You can't apply "what the market will bear" pricing to experimental aviation when your head is up there with commercial aircraft. Though I think if this is an entirely new engine with all new components it is still going to be unobtainium for the experimental builder. Out side of exotic metalurgy, a turbine should be cheaper to produce due to being made up of many identical parts. If the people designing the next generation of fan powered weapons could be persueded to allow for electric start options rather than explosive starters then there would be a whole market ready and waiting for the unused engines when they swap them out as preventative maintanance =)
  9. I think this was them as they were from South America and it was a well developed powerplant, the demo unit was very compact, same redrive on it and was in a compact demo cradle, had a little panel with controls and instruments, fuel was in a small red plastic fuel can. It made all the right noises and would have been perfect for a LE or Varieze in size. Amusing when fuel consumption is in the 30+ GPH range and the recent AOPA article of Klaus's 50-100 mpg. Then of course there is the ever vapourous Innodyne ..Chrissi
  10. Steve, Maybe someone up in the Ft Worth area...lots of Canardians up there? ...Chrissi
  11. Maybe you could cut all of your foam and ship it to Dennis and let him ship it? ...Chrissi & Randi
  12. Is that the one they ran on the bed of a Gator at SNF about 3-4 yrs ago? ...Chrissi & Randi
  13. No, really wish this could be resolved. JD poo poo's it saying it is a non-issue, I see it as design creep due to a change by another vendor. More importantly braking and landing forces hammering the "internal scissors" due to thi unintended 1/2" mis-alignment. At least it is in favor of toe-in. ...Chrissi & Randi
  14. Congratulations Steve! Let us know how we can help you while you're busy. ...Chrissi & Randi
  15. LOL, no, trying to get this thread back on track -AILERON- (got to say an airplane word now and then to make these silly conversations seem relevant to the moderators
  16. Brrrrr, yes I see what you mean. ...Christine
  17. Any Kiwi knows its the wellies that scare the sheep!
  18. Thats basically the design we used for our "pitot envy" design with some embellishments. ...Chrissi
  19. uh no, as it was I ran the bilge blower for a long time as well as the pump. Propane sits and accumulates and when you have a bilge deep enough to stand in, thats a lot of volume. " Yer going to the moon Alice! "
  20. Yah, sometimes I have a problem taking someone's word for it unless it comes to "wonder if that would hurt?" ...a chicken through and through
  21. Long time ago I was replacing a burner valve on my yacht stove, doing the soap bubble test afterwards I still had a tiny leak. Being immeasurably young and stupid I decided to "see what would happen" if I lit this little bubble up, the "scientific method". Okay, this is a very very minor slow leak, taking minutes to make a one inch bubble, I mean how much pressure could a soap membrane an inch in diameter contain, so hardly any propane, right? Hey, I was smart enough to open the port above it and slide the main companionway hatch back, nice quiet still morning.... The "fireball" was about a foot in diameter Never search for a gas leak with a match. There are plenty of stories about boats in marinas where you'd see your typical Tupperware 30 with the whole deck sitting on the hull slightly askew as if it were somebody's partially completed kit, its always a case of the hull filling with a little bit of leaked propane and someone lights the stove. In most cases nobody is seriously hurt but the poof that happens is a bit of a shockwave an hopefully it is over and done with before anything catches on fire. ...Chrissi
  22. Very nice Steve, life is good and congrats on the engine. ...Chrissi & Randi
  23. Please do not do the propane thing again. If you have ever played around with the stuff you have some idea of its volitility This time of year the air is mighty dry, your plastic airplane is loaded with static and we'd hate to hear of any damage to your plane (or you). Seriously the smallest amount of propane in your tanks could be enough to blow the lid right off. Freon is the best way to go because it has much smaller molecules and will easily leak from the smallest holes, a good leak indicator. Read the section on John Slades misadventures in canard building. He did this and found several holes, then an experienced regridgeration guy went over it and found a few more. Sometimes when you are hunting nits you need a professional nit hunter? Regards, Chrissi
  24. Merry Xmas Drewbie! Say "Hi" while you are in town enjopying the freeze, at least you are here to experience more "holiday appropriate" weather than the nice warm hot summer days you left down there
