  1. My-T-Fine! Glass work looks so smooth too, nice. Please get a picture from inside the tub and wherever else showing how the offsets straddle the fuselage sides. ...Chrissi
  2. Chris, what is the specs for your new radiator? We're going to use one of Ed Klepies's oil/water coolers instead of a traditional oil cooler. You can stuff it wherever it fits without worrying about airflow for it (much) but need another 10% or so radiator area. ...Chrissi
  3. We're purposely staying out of the composite components market. There are already vendors making some good parts, if you want really good premade canards, spars, wings and winglets contact Dennis Olemann in Iowa, he makes the best, he uses our metal, minimal fill and finish required. ...Chrissi
  4. Oh I remember 20 something, yeah we know where all the dirty old men are at any given time, doesn't mean we acknowledge though Problem is, at some point your brain gets stuck in 30-something, like last night at dinner I was checking out some guy I'm sure is maybe thirty then realised "oops you're way way past that Chrissi"... ah to sleep, perchance to dream... maybe I need to talk to Randi about putting in a pool, "Oh pool boy...." ...Chrissi Oh... AILERON
  5. yur just a kid then =) I summered on the Costa Brava before the Brits annexed it.
  6. Looking Good, been awhile so I do not know the angle they cant forward. ...Chrissi
  7. Yah do know those little lines are in there so that you don't leave it on and forget it? (its happened) We peel ply -everything- so premade tapes are a waste of time and money for us plus they are too heavy for our liking. YMMV Econoply-J is very lightweight and easier to conform to most surfaces. When we do something like the drip edge of the turtleback we cut about a hundred little strips 3/4"~1" wide by about 3" and overlap them a little, lots of work to lay down but conforms to everything and easy to sand after, also easy to pull. Cutting is no problem with electric scissors either. ...Chrissi
  8. Save the blender for foo foo umbrella drinks when it warms up!
  9. Econoply-J $61/60" x 25 yds =$2.44 yd + S&H https://www.airtechonline.com/Airtechstore/product.asp?Dept_ID=5&ProductID=12
  10. LOL, yah, I'd rather be in Spain, When I lived in London I spent my summers there then lived next door near Lisbon for a couple of years. Long ago and far away....Chrissi
  11. Drewby, What you want is the nose from the 4 place Berkut, now that was cool. I don't know if they did anything beyond the molded tub? ..Chrissi
  12. Great Chris, looking forward to finally meeting you. We promise to not look at your strakes Just tell your buddies on the force to ignor the minivan with the GIRRL license plates as it flys by. The locals are nice to us because they use our driveway for a speed trap, they're all pretty cool and come up and check out our project, three of them just bought a 172 together. If you really want to know who else is building a plane in your neighborhood, just ask your UPS driver. They know everything! ...Chrissi
  13. Uhhhh, thanks, but that'd be a little young for us ...Chrissi
  14. groan.... We'll be on the lookout for cute cops, so, is your brother single?
  15. I guess we can print the t-shirts now; the official CG Road Trip will be Ft Worth on Friday 27th Feb in the evening, Houston Sat 28th afternoon and evening, and possibly a second day Sunday 29th. Hope you guys can get together in one place or two so that we can meet up? ...Chrissi & Randi
  16. Alright! Hey guys, we hooked another one! Looking forward to hearing about all of your adventures. ...Chrissi & Randi
  17. There may be some thought about the higher density in the melted area, I seriously doubt that is valid as the open grain of the foam filled with resin/micro has to be heavier. Sanded cores -might- be more accurate and if assembled perfectly -might- need less fill in the finish process. I just don't see the rational for saying its lighter. ...Chrissi
  18. Rock, too complex to do the whole thing in print without pics and diagrams and we don't have that chapter ready to post to the web site yet, so call Randi for questions. BIG HINT: do not skin the bottom first. Add an R45 Rib. Spline sand the tops of the ribs and bulkheads with a long spline only to knock off the offending high spots, no need to make it perfect. Fit top skin(s) on and put external witness marks on everything so that it always goes back the same place. From underside mark rib and bulkhead positions on underside of skin(s) then remove and mask with packing tape, then replace and apply 2X BID 1" on bulkheads 2" on underside of skin(s), let it go off, remove skin(s) and trim your new perfect hat sections to 1" each side of the ribs and bulkheads. Then you can bond in the bottom skin. Oh, theres a lot more stuff like that involved, they may look like they were borrowed from a LE, has nothing to do with why we did it but also they are not built anything like to plans of LE or Cozy. ...Chrissi & Randi
  19. Watching Jeff (back when he had hair) is certainly sleep inducing but very helpful if you have not seen someone whiz through it. This takes a lot of the uncertainty out of it. ...Chrissi
