  1. Lengthening would be a real challenge, but, if you're tall, you might consider moving the front seatback aft an inch or two with out affecting moment very much... especially if you're on the heavy side. Widening, OTOH, shouldn't be too difficult, and it's been done (and flown). You would be amazed at what 2-3" in width makes in the feel.
  2. Marble Turtle Quote:"All is fair in horseshoes and hand-grenades" I'm sorry...But I just don't get it. I think the proper phrase is: "Close only matters in Horeshoes and Hand Grenades".
  3. Guys/Gals: For a few suggestions to your significant other of cool gifts to get for a Canard Builder have them see: http://home.earthlink.net/~jerskip/cozy_002.htm FWIW,
  4. Dust, <The archives are, in my opinion a waste of time.> IMHO, you're WAY out of line with your comment about the Archives being a waste of time. I personally have gleaned numerous hints and tricks which have saved me time and money. <Why don't you take your additude to your workwhop and get something positive out of it, we really don't need it here.> Once again, IMHO, Marc has been one of the most neutral "attitude" types I've seen on this band of the Web. Instead of slamming other people about their attitude, (which I feel is non-existent in Marc Zeitlin's case), or their opinions, your time would be better spent improving your achive search skills. <Marc, I talked to the MANUFACTURERS rep of mgs and they specfically told me NOT to use a kerosene heater, so if you would like to, go ahead, i will stick to the mfg recommendations.> Would you expect a Company Rep to say anything else? (I smell LIABILITY!!!) Maybe when YOUR plane is in the air you'll understand where Marc is coming from. Flame Thrower Off. Asbestos Underwear On.
  5. Re: Mr. Peepers Sorry tu54, I found the problem was with my website links, (fixed now). See: http://home.earthlink.net/~jerskip/cozy_018.htm for another chuckle. I find that most humor is based in truth. The teeth marks on my knuckles are nearly gone.
  6. Dave, Yes. The double sided tape used to hold golf club grips seems to work best.
  7. Oh John, You poor *astard. I can't go to the one near me without spending at least $100. I'm in a 12 step program now.... It's called CTA (Cheap Tools Anonymous). Let go.. Let Snap On.
  8. Hey People, Anybody out there lucky enough to have a Lodge reservation for this weekend, but unlucky enough to not be able to attend..... I'd be interested in assuming your reservation. Just lemme know... jerskip@earthlink.net
  9. That wouldn't be bad. But let's shorten it to "The Cool".
  10. Hey John, Earlier you wrote: <<Jerry (the tent) Schnider, Bulent (the scoop) Alieve, Jim (the door) Sower, The Cozy Girrrls, Myself (via NY) with Rich Hughes to name just a few. Unfortunately Marc (the pits) Zeitlin won't be able to make it. >> Wouldn't you be more aptly described as "Myself (the porch")??
  11. >Does anyone have any experience with Aero-Cad? I've purchased a number of their products, and can say unequivocally (sp?), they were of excellent quality. Jeff and Greg have always been willing to lend a helping hand in the advice/support department as well. Only wish more companies used their M.O.. FWIW
  12. I's a little too soon for me to get a good set of tires. I the deal falls through on the wheelpants, shoot me an email. jerskip@earthlink.net
  13. I'm interested in the wheel pants if they're still available.
  14. Dave, Could you provide the stock number of the cups you like to use from GFS? It's a big site with tons-o-cups. Thanks
  15. Just measured my wing (w/o winglet). Allow 12' 3" due to oblique angles. Happy moving!
  16. Wayne, Your description exactly describes my experience. Thanks for the comeback!. Once again, the old "Stop Worrying and Just Follow the Plans" monster rears it's ugly head.
  17. I definitely have the right stuff... although I'll check it again this evening.(The 5th time) Maybe the term "considerable slop" was over over kill. The joint fits the thinner walled tubing "a little loosely", but they fit the thicker wall tubing perfectly (while adding <1 oz of weight). The more I think about it, I may just paint the interior of the plans tubes and be done with it. (Corrosion protection ) John, did you.. or anyone else out there for that matter, paint the torque tubes?
  18. I'm in the process of assembling the aileron torque tubes/bearings/what-not.... and I've noticed a considerable amount of "slop" in the fit of the torque tube to universal joint when using the 3/4" x .058" tubing (CS151). Whereas if I use .065" wall tubing, it fits like a glove. Is this to allow for a layer epoxy primer paint or something else I haven't read about yet? TIA
  19. No. I didn't trim the spar. I trimmed the wing "lip" to get thigs to line up laterally. I think maybe you were referring to vertical misalignment. Any minor misalignment in the vertical plane will be fixed later w/micro. I wouldn't trim the spar at all.
  20. Don't know how "fat" you were... but I had to cut about 3/16" away from the top (and I think the bottom) edges of the wing to get things to line up.
  21. John Slade wrote: "Another erected a large "tent" in his backyard." A Tent.... A TENT!!!! Well... I guess it is a tent.
  22. I'm curious..... How 'bout a little more info on this "Modification"??
  23. My logic is this, John: The original question was "let them post for profit", no mention of a fee. Now, if the webmaster charges for ad space, I see no cost problem. But, I wouldn't want the ads to come up as a new post either. I get enough spam as it is.
  24. If they did allow that, eventually we'd all end up paying subscription fees to help defray the cost of web space. No Thanks.
