First $$ spent...

Recommended Posts

I've finally took the plunge. After years of looking at different homebuilt models and flip flopping as to which design was right for me, I have ordered and received my Cozy MkIV plans from ACS.

I will not be starting until the end of Nov or the beginning of Dec, but I wanted adequate time to study the plans and prep my workshop. I am now in the process of building my work table, insulating/heating the shop, and buying a few tools I am lacking.

I know I will be asking many questions on this board, so I just want to introduce myself and thank everyone for making these forums such an invaluable tool for the homebuilder....

Welcome to the fray!

I always have to ask, What plans number do you have? I have #1395 and bought in 2005.

Money is tight right now, so unfortunately I have not done much in about a year. Stuck on the nose at chapter 13, (ch. 14 is complete though). But it is just waiting for me.

Best of luck,

Kraig

Good work...

I got plans in March and I read something about the Cozy and other canards just about everyday. I am going to start building in the spring when I should have a garage. I really feel that all this prebuild reading will really help the project come together more smoothly down the road. I am going to really try to focus on keeping momentum once I get started building.

Anyway, good luck. Good to see another builder.

Welcome. It's a long road, but a good one.

Tip #1.

Ask around for somebodies unfinished tub. It will give you a 10 month headstart and cost the same as the materials, at worst case.

Self confessed Wingnut.

Now think about it...wouldn't you rather LIVE your life, rather than watch someone else's, on Reality T.V.?

Get up off that couch!!! =)

Progress; Fuselage on all three, with outside and inside nearly complete. 8 inch extended nose. FHC done. Canard finished. ERacer wings done with blended winglets. IO540 starting rebuild. Mounting Spar. Starting strake ribs.

Welcome to the addiction. It will be a life changing event building your very own plane. Build on STeve

Yep, like having your first baby. Staying up late or getting up early to give it attention, never enough stuff, money, neglected wife/girlfriend, ruined clothes, need more room, etc. :D

Welcome Guiness guy.

Yep! I told Randy at RR I'll finish my plane before theirs for sure. She asked what plans number I had and my answer was #0134. She said, "why, you SHOULD be finished before us! Hehe, I'm 4 years into the build. Complete with Aerocanard wings and Cozy plans from a divorce' in Florida. Always wondered if it was the plane that caused the divorce....;)
