TMann
in dollar quantity, yes. In value, adjusted for inflation, maybe not as much.If you have the ability to buy in a depressed market ........ so much more will be your ROI, adjusted for inflation. Steve Innova
This is way off topic, and there are arguments for and against. Yes you can pick up great deals at the bottom of an economic cycle, if you have cash to pay for assets. But you have to consider what your "cost of money" is for holding an $20k engine for 4 years. What else could you have invested that money in? Also, inflation is a given when the economy eventually recovers, so that dilutes your ROI when it's time to sell. Best advice is still probably, don't buy your engine or avionics until the end, you never know how long your project will take.
Steve Innova
Or if you really believe that aircraft engines are the best long-term investment, get together with like minded investors and bid on Superior Air Parts, which looks to go to some Textron company for around $21 million in Chapt. 11. TMann
Or if you really believe that aircraft engines are the best long-term investment. ........ What's up with that? The guy wants to buy an engine and get a decent deal at the same time. You're thinking waaaaaaay to much about this. It's not about you. Is everybody wet yet?
