TMann Posted January 11, 2009 Posted January 11, 2009 I spent some time and created a Microsoft Publisher document that contains the First Edition (May 1980) content of the Long-EZ Owner's Manual. I did this because there will be many changes to the manual to reflect the differences that will exist on my bird vs. the stock/plans built Long-EZ. Eventually my custom copy will have performance charts that reflect MY plane. Same with the takeoff role, V speeds, etc. Anyway, I decided to create a copy that was stock and make it available to whoever wants it. You can print it, customize ......... the possibilities are endless. The important thing is you can change the text to make it a true resource. I'll check with Jon as to either allowing PUB file extensions or finding a home for it on the zone. Cozy1200 Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Good on ya TMann. It's your call, but I can also host it on my website. Seeing that it's currently the only place to download the Cozy POH, having the LEZ would be nice as well. I also think about http://www.ez.org/downloads.htm when where to find a LEZ POH manual. Asking them to place a copy of at least a link would be nice. Quote Drew Chaplin (aka the Foam Whisperer) --- www.Cozy1200.com - I'm a builder now! --- Brace for impact...
TMann Posted January 12, 2009 Author Posted January 12, 2009 I shot an email over to EZ.org (which is where I got the original.) It will be nice to be able to put MY plabe on the cover. PM me an email address and I'll shoot you a copy. Cozy1200 Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 The file is available for download at the following: http://www.cozy1200.com/geeklog/filemgmt/viewcat.php?cid=1 or http://tinyurl.com/8j7xv7 I'm also going to turn it into a PDF for those without MS publisher. TMann, I'd suggest sending a comment to CSA for inclusion into the next newsletter. Quote Drew Chaplin (aka the Foam Whisperer) --- www.Cozy1200.com - I'm a builder now! --- Brace for impact...
TMann Posted January 13, 2009 Author Posted January 13, 2009 I'm also going to turn it into a PDF for those without MS publisher. Ez.org already has it as a PDF file. The Idea of the MS Publisher version is yo be able to edit it. Things like " Radio equipped aircraft must also have a valid FCC radio telephone license " really don't relate to taday's requirements. .....still, it does print out cleaner. It should also be available on EZ.org and Terry at central states has a copy as well. Firefly-YCTTSFM Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 End of pg 13 - missing the last part of the sentence "However, because of possible prop damage, avoid gravel or fields with loose rocks." Looks very nice, it's great to have one that you can do text searches on. Quote I don't care, I'm still free. You can't take the sky from me.
Firefly-YCTTSFM Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 "...avoid gravel or fields with loose rocks." I think I just found my new catchphrase Wonder how many times I can fit that into conversation tomorrow at work? Quote I don't care, I'm still free. You can't take the sky from me.

gilbertexp Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 If anyone's interested I've converted mine into a MS Word document. I'll zip it and post it tomorrow. Some of the graphs and pics still need to be tweaked. John LongEZ, O320 Gilbert, AZ Quote
spg_76013 Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 If anyone has done similar with a VariEze POH -- converting it into a Word document, please advise. I'd love to have a copy. SPG1 Quote
TMann Posted January 15, 2009 Author Posted January 15, 2009 John, I would not get too hung up on the graphics. In most cases they will not reflect the true numbers for an individual aircraft anyway. All of this information should be compiled as it applies to the finished aircraft. Right down to validation of the Datum! After you get it flying, you start putting together the performance numbers (takeoff roll, Vnumberes, etc.) A MS Word doc would be a great addition. gilbertexp Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 Well, I tried posting it today, but I received an error. I think it's too big to post (the zip file is 2.7MB.) Anyone interested can email me at maktek at cox dot net and I'll be happy to email it. Maybe someone can shrink it further and post it. John LongEZ, O320 Gilbert, AZ Quote
