Jon Matcho
I'm trying to figure out how to get there. Not a problem w/scheduling, but flights to Backwoods Airport are a handful of $$$. I am doing my best to get myself there... Dan Tomlinson
I'd like to go down from Toronto - it would be driving at this point! How are you getting there Mike? I'd prefer to fly, but I don't have mine done yet! /dan Quote /dan
Jon Matcho
flights to Backwoods Airport are a handful of $$$.I was referring to Owensboro, KY, which is ~35 miles away and a $551 commercial flight. Commercial into Louisville is $280 and ~55 miles away (I understand a 90-minute trip). Looks like I'll be flying into Louisville. mplafleur
I'm hitchin' a ride with dust and Nick (dust's hanger mate) in a v-tail Bonanza. We may have to ask for special clearance to land and park behind the FBO. Quote Mike LaFLeur - Cozy MkIV #1155N68ML

We are in the "what plans do I want to build stage" I like the room I may get with the Aero Canard and would like a looksee. Jon Matcho
Anyone know if there are any Aero Canards showing up???I hope so, since I'm building one. I'm flying in commercial, sharing a rental car w/Jerry Schneider and Larry Wimble, but have no idea where I'm staying other than I'm bringing my tent, toothbrush, and soap. Jon Matcho
So far the weather forecast is sun on Friday, 40% chance of rain on Saturday, and partly cloudy on Sunday. Not too shabby... Jon Matcho
Now that was fun! Outside of the pizzazzle of Sun-n-Fun (not mentioning my transportation there) and what I guess would be the craziness of Osh, this event has my vote as THE must-see fly-in of the year for canard enthusiasts. I'll upload a few more pics to my Web site when I can, but in the meantime I attached a shot of Jack Morrison saying "goodbye" by going 1,000mph down the runway in his supercharged ERacer. *Also, to stir the snipe out for the retracts vs. fixed gear debate, pictures like this are one of the reasons why you get retracts. Neverquit
Due to increased fuel prices I suggest we start now and chime out who is going. Maybe we can attract those by car/plane pooling to those who otherwise had decided to not go this year. My vehicle is now full of passengers. Who else is willing? It would be great if we could show our brotherhood/sisterhood of Canardians during difficult times and break last year's record.
Jon Matcho
I am going, this year with my wife, and am dragging another builder w/his wife to spend 2 nights in the luxurious town of Falls of Rough. I had no problem keeping busy nonstop last year, but I have no idea how to pull this one off. zzigster
Hi Everyone, I'm looking for a room at the Rough River lodge, that perhaps someone may have reserved and for some reason decided they weren't going to make it. Anyone who has a room reserved with a change in plans, give me a shout, I'ld be happy to get those reservations. rnbraud
What is the best route from Louisville (SDF) Airport to Rough River? Looks like I can either take I-65 down or take "the back way" over US-60? Thanks.
