  1. Welcome back Canard Zone and Jon! This was quite a hangout, perhaps it can be reinvented. -- Remi
  2. To save time explaning, I'll refer you to the "Girrrls" web page. http://www.cozygirrrl.com/menupage.htm Look on the left margin for the Click Bond link. Hopefully it will clear up any confusion.
  3. Looking good "B." I'm glad you're enjoying the build. Regarding the firewall, save yourself some time and frustration by using click bonds instead of plan's bolts for the future cable pulleys. I wish I had done it initially. Credit goes out to the Cozy Girrrls...
  4. Yes, multiply that by 8 pins for the control tubes. Don't forget about the castellated nuts, special washers, and cotter pins. You will also need a taper reaming bit. The outcome is fantastic, well worth the expense IMO. Besides, it's pittance relative to other components. Taper pins for the rudder pedals is a great idea, I'll have to remember that when I install my Oelman's.
  5. According to the plan, Chapter 13, page 1, the nose tire is 10 x 3.5 x 4. I wonder if that'd make a difference? ACS has the McCreary 10 x 3.5 x 4 listed in their chapter 13 parts list.
  6. Yes, they are slow... but will deliver, eventually. According to their webpage, it's a very small shop. I gave myself a huge lead time when ordering my antenna kit. It certainly doesn't help your current position. There are other sources for baluns and copper tape that RST put together.
  7. How about pull down 'Quick Links', then 'Today's Posts'? It works for me
  8. I'll be darn.... thanks for pointing the link, Satch. Sorry gang.
  9. F Y I REMINDER....12 days from today, all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sale calls. AND YES.....YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222 It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your time. It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number. It takes about 20 seconds HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS. I personally checked out the number at the FTC WWW site below..... http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/alerts/alt107.shtm
  10. Thanks for the link Schubert. Now if only I can find Discovery Civilization (DC) on DirecTV. Perhpas I'm dyslexic or it's simply not available. Do others have access to DC or is it only available to our northerly neighbor? Cheers...
  11. I dunno, but my search on discovery.com yielded nothing searching for "airdogs". Please enlighten me on the premiere! Thanks
  12. Well, Rick, that's not quite a true statement. "They" don't all do that... some of "them" do take time off to have cocktails Let's not make it sound too serious! I'm looking forward until the landscape below isn't iced or snowed over from above. See you and the gang at RR '08!
  13. Welcome aboard!! I can't help you with a flying canard/Cozy but I happen to have a Cozy IV project in my basement. EAA 868 is a nice group of active builders, unfortunately it's comprised of ~90% RV builders. I've been a member for some years and have developed an allergy to aluminum. PM me your phone number if you want to hook up for a project visit, or check out my poorly updated construction page at http://www.tinyurl.com/8ox25
  14. Hi y'all, Wishing you all a fabulous day!
  15. Steve, That's a gross ASSumption to think I'm referring to John's forum.
  16. I concur Girrrls... although this is a Cozy canard community, there are some who will cross-post to the other unscrupulously unethical forum... in the interest of information dissemination. It is with a heavy heart that I, too, insist that passage of editable information be refrained from dissemination without prior consent from the author(s). That is, of course, at the risk of losing the input from a valuable vendor.
  17. These are the Gerdes nosewheels. However, correct me if I'm wrong Girrrls... these wheels will need custom spacers and polishing, CG Products is currently prepping for a production run. See: http://www.cozygirrrl.com/nosewheels.htm OTOH, Matco wheels are another option... not sure what is the price differential. Does anyone know?
  18. I suggest a huge group hug... (where is that emoticon?) and .... Go BACK TO BUILDING YOUR PLANE!!!
  19. Thanks 'Skip' for clarifying. The last thing I want to do is alienate from the bloc of awesome people that I got to meet in my construction journey. The relationship, at time, is better than with my own family. Although I have strong opinions on the healthcare access issue, expression of such belief will undoubtedly reap the wrath of my extreme left-wing friends.
  20. I'll reiterate that I did not expect or want compensation/reimbursement for my contribution. My bone of contention is in line with the Cozy Girrrls' observation of the treasurer's attitude. Enough said.... moving on.
  21. Ooops, forgot about the all-important structural function of the heat duct. Thanks Marc for pointing that out. My bad!
  22. Elimination of the centerline heat duct will allow for a bench seat in the aft section. Provision for cockpit heating will have to be considered. There are quite a few mods involving installation of secondary oil cooler and blower in the nose. I recall that Nick Ugolini has a nice set up. OTOH, I suppose it's also easy enough to build a one-piece rear bench seat over the heat duct...
  23. As an active participant/provider in the past 2 luncheons, I had no expectation of reimbursement. Unfortunately, the issue of contributions have tainted the spirit behind the motive. I, for what it's worth, will not be involved in future collaboration with said activity. 'Tis a shame that such a wonderfully innocent idea has evolved into a perceived for-profit endeavor and effectively induced a state of unreasonable expectation. I would like to make a proposal of confining future luncheon activities as private gatherings, i.e., potluck. It's apparently unrealistic to appease the masses... *Activate flame suit ON*
  24. How about hitching a ride on John Slade's Rotary Cozy?
  25. Why would you even bother with such a low risk endeavor such as experimental homebuilt aircraft? With the resources available at your disposal, why not just jump off a cliff somewhere? Be real... this is a homebuilt forum, not bragging about our toys ...
