  5. Gee, even if you scrap all the fiberglass work, there's enough other hardware that it'd be worth grabbing if you're in the area.
  6. This one's labeled a "Very Easy," but it sure looks like a Long-EZ to me: https://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/avo/d/salome-very-easy-airplane-project/7682469810.html
  7. I hate to hijack this thread, but I hate even more to start a new thread when this one is already discussing the topic. If the plans empty weight is supposed to be ~730 lbs, and installing a larger engine adds 150 lbs (gotta have a battery to go with that starter!), where do you typically see the extra 220 lbs (to get to 1100) coming from?
  8. I don't know that I've seen a Q2 with this landing gear configuration before.
  9. Ary Glantz might have one, but I seem to remember him saying he only used it for his own reference and didn't want to share, probably for liability reasons. He has kept a fantastic builder's log here: http://www.aryjglantz.com/p/blog-page.html?m=0

  12. It looks like Izzy has dropped the price on his Defiant to $185k:
  13. I don't recall if you're in the Cozy email group, there's a pretty thorough discussion of Russ' nose wheel shimmy there as well.
  14. I didn't see this one when it was first posted:
  15. I saw that one too, and it looks like 1) he's holding the nose off for a long time, and 2) it looks like there's not a lot of friction in the pivot.
  16. "Last chance until I start parting it out" - a Long-EZ project with all materials and parts for the airframe, minus the canopy, for $6,850. Fuselage done including center-section spar and main gear, and it looks like the noze gear has also been done. No photos of a wing or canard. https://www.facebook.com/commerce/listing/544711904543566/
  17. I know @Jon Matcho is working on digitizing, verifying, and making available the Defiant plans in the same manner as the Open-EZ. I found an electronic copy of the plans minus the templates, which are really important to have printed accurately. From a couple of conversations I've had, it sounds like building a Defiant is roughly twice the time and cost of building a Long-EZ. It's pretty darn big for a homebuilt.
