  1. https://jxn.craigslist.org/avo/d/horton-rutan-varieze-project/7735429888.html

    (more pictures in the listing)

Varieze Project purchased from an estate and there are no logs. Fuselage kept undercover in garage, wings, canard, etc., kept in dark (ie no sunlight), dry basement. Fuselage is on wheels but still needs work. Wings, winglets and canard are glassed. Have canopy but no engine. Have plans, templates and extra pieces (extra set of wing connect hardware, wheels, front strut, misc hardware). No instruments or engine. I do have pieces of a Continental C-85 for $2000 (2 cases, crank, jugs, misc). There is still more than 51% to complete. It’s a good base to start from.

I have too many projects and will never get to this. Please E-mail due to amount of scammers texting. I will not ship and will need cash upon pickup due to the scammers out there. I do not need help selling, either.

  2. This is a repost, but I think it's a price drop:  Most of the fiberglass work done on an Long-EZ for $3k.  That said, you'd probably want to build a new canard (the included one is a GU), and some of the layups look....wavy?

  3. Why is the foam bonded to the glass with micro instead of flox?  Because (at least the way I've heard it), between fiberglass, micro, flox, and foam, the foam is the weakest link.  Replacing micro with flox would add weight (albeit not a ton) but the structure would be no stronger.  In other words, whether you bond it with micro or bond it with flox, the foam will fail before anything else.

This is a Cozy Mark 4 homebuilt aircraft that is for sale. Unfortunate medical condition has caused the widow to sell this excellent example of an IFR capable Cozy Mark 4. I have been asked to help with the sell of this plane by his widow. I also have recently completed a Cozy Mark 4 and I am a hangar partner with the widow owner of this aircraft. The builder has built 2 canard aircraft and this plane was completed about 5 years ago. It has 317 hours on the plane since new. The engine also has 317 hours since overhaul. This is what I know about the plane:
IFR Capable with Garmin GTN 650
    Dynon HDX 10 inch
    Garmin GTR 200 nav
    Garmin G5
Dynon System (autopilot and EMS) ADSB in and out
    Lycoming io 360 b4a
    Hertzler Silver Bullet propeller (66x75)
    Custom Upholstry
    Matco Tripple Puck Brakes
One electronic ignition (light speed) and one magneto
He completed the annual inspection about 3 months ago. This is a true gym of an airplane. It's ready to fly with full fuel. It took him 18 years to build it. It is better equipped than my cozy.

This is all I know about the plane. If you are serious and want to look at it notify me through craigslist. If I think you are legit I will contact you and I will have to escort you to the airport. No tire kickers please. Located at KMLU.
