  1. This is the first time I have attached any files so pardon me if this didn't work. The zipfile contains: A-1 A-2 (without canard templates) A-2.5 (also called A-2B. This PDF is both A-1 and A-2 joined and formated for 24x36) open_ez-a1-a2-a2b.zip
  2. I have completed cad versions of A-1 and almost A-2. Half of A-2 is the cannard templates and my thought was not to bother as most people will want to use the new cannard design. Thoughts? I will post the cad file and pdfs to date.....
  3. I presume you mean those of use that are pilots, not those of us that are broke! (perhaps for the most part both is true!) Im sure my $$ will recover. Today I took my first passenger (other than the examiner) and that was yet a whole new experience for both of us. I think I am really going to like this.
  4. I just got back from Salem, OR yesterday with my fancy new paper certifcate. Feels great even if I am poor for a little while!
  5. Thanks, I have the 3d wing file and DWG gateway. I will compare it to the drawing I have completed as well. In the meantime I intend to complete full drawings and add what ever other information to the cad files as well (roncz canard if possible, rudder drawings etc). My goal is to have as complete a set of drawings as possible.
  6. Ok, I am going to take another stab at producing some cad drawings. I have a little better understanding now of the build process and hard copies of the templates to aid. I am going to start by producing cad drawings of the original templates (24x18 drawings). I will then work on versions that might be easier to use. (full templates without having to match line anything). I will need some help throughout reconciling some discrepancies. The hard copy I have indicates the instrument panel at 22-1/4. Some other sources show a different overall measurement. Is 22-1/4" Correct?
  7. What is included in the booklet?
  8. Do you have official plans or are you going the Open-EZ route?
  9. Why haven't you gotten the Open-EZ templates?
  10. I wonder why an all metal main gear could not be used like on other homebuilts.
  11. That is a very good point. For a while I was thinking of building a BearHawk, but it seems that composite construction can be a little more forgiving. (Really really thinking of starting an Open-EZ)
  12. What happened to the right hand landing light?
  13. I got a bug in me today and went down to the local print shop and printed the 14 24x18 sheets out. Looking at the full size drawings put a monkey on my back so to speak. I will be getting the turf-cd soon. But first finish getting my ppl. Hopefully that will be by the end of the month. Then fly, build, fly, build etc...
  14. Would you be willing to share the database?

    Cool Lithograph

Well I ordered the poster and it has been over two weeks, no poster in sight. I have also sent two emails inquiring about shipment, delivery etc. At this point I doubt it will arrive.

    "New" Long-Ez

I want one (airjeep). Then of course I would like any airplane at this point. Still I think it's pretty cool.
  19. From what I can see in the photos, the workmanship looks really good.
  20. Curious. The long-ez plans auction ended with a high bid of $150.00. I wonder why that would be.
  21. Regardless there is always the Open-EZ project.
  22. Greetings. I am a student pilot (almost there, 40+ hours). I am thinking about the possibility of building a Long-Ez and was wondering if there were any Long-ez's operating in Western Washington that I might be able to check out and possibly hitch a ride in to see if this is an aircraft I really want to pursue. I of course would be willing to contrbute to fuel etc.
  23. I have produced A14. I can generate pdf, dxf, dwg formats. I think it would be a good idea for an experienced builder to review the drawing and perhaps compare to an actual drawing for accuracy to ensure the drawing is correct. How can I post the files? Perhaps I can email them to you (can you open a dwg?)
