That is absolutely fantastic.  My personal takeaways:

  • An absolute full day is required even after everything is jigged up and ready to go.
  • One person can do this.
  • The smaller the workshop, the more important it is to be well-organiced.
  • A trash bin can be used as a cloth table.

I wonder what epoxy system is being used where the fumes need to be filtered.  I assume that mask is more than a particle filter.

IIRC, my wing skin layups were approximately 11 hours, start to finish.

 

I wonder what epoxy system is being used where the fumes need to be filtered.  I assume that mask is more than a particle filter.

All of them. Breath the vapors from ANY of the epoxy systems long enough and you can have a systemic allergic reaction. For all long layups (and to be careful, short ones as well) a carbon filter respirator has long been the recommended protection.
