Jon and I have been talking about ways to add value to the forum...

I suggested that we add a "hot tub" section when we revise the hierarchy (Jon is working on this and should have it ready in the next week or so).

By the way - the proposed new hierarchy is at http://canardzone.com/?Section=ProposedHierarchy Does anyone have any more comments or suggestions before it's implemented?

My idea is that the "hot tub" is open from say 9pm to 12pm Eastern (sorry No4 what time is that for you?) each evening. Anyone can climb in and simply shoot the breeze about anything. The messages here wont be archived, and will be deleted once a week. Clothing would be optional. :D

Since it was my idea, and I'm the one who actually had a hut tub on the patio while building the plane, I'll try to be there for a while each evening, at least until something hits the fan at work, or my engine starts.

I suppose this would be better using an instant messenger type system, but lets try it with the forum as a start.

Another thought I've had is posting a short daily update on my progress. I always find it interesting to read about where others are up to. Doing this daily would be too much for the whole build, but I'm guessing I'm about 10 days away from engine start, and from there it'll be debugging, taxi testing and flight testing. It occured to me that people just starting, considering starting, or well through the process might find a few details interesting as I "close" in on the big day.

This could be combined with the hot-tub thing, but I thought of doing it in a rotary engine thread since much of it will be rotary related.

Thoughts anyone?

I fully support the "hot tub" section. Whatever rules you come up with will work for me. Putting you're daily progress in the rotary section also makes sense to me. Your weekly updates are very interesting and I appreciate everyone of them... from engine intake manifold construction to obtaining insurance. The plane is looking beautiful by the way... maybe I'll see it at Rough River this year!

Well, why not a chat... I like the idea of the Hot Tub... but wht not go whole hog and start a live chat..hmmm. I'll look into it.. That is, if yaz all think its good for the group..

Would let people like me, not yet started on the build yet committed to the project join the club and feel the love.

Either way, live chats or Hot Tub posting, works for me.

Well let me see, take the two, carry the one, ermm , I'll have to take my shoes and socks off , ermm, now that's 5am to 8am!

Maybe I'll see you for breakfast,(as long as Jim promises not to "p#ss in my cornflakes" that is).

Less likely when we lose summer time, that will be 4am to 7am.

John, shame on you for not quoting UTC/GMT, I thought everyone new the world revolves around Grenwich, London, England.

9pm to 12pm eastern is 4pm to 7pm GMT, or if you prefer 1600UTC to 1900UTC.

That's universal time co-ordinated, so even the martians revolve around Grenwich! :D

Last time I got in a hot tub I caught veruccas. Mind you, serves me right for hanging around with the wrong class of lady.:D

OK not that anybody cares, but I need to go back to school for remedial maths.

9pm eastern = 2am GMT = 2pm NZST

12pm eastern = 5am GMT = 5pm NZST

so I'll see you at lunch, and I'll be able to tell you what it's like tommorrow.

Jeez i really wish there wasn't the 30 minute edit rule, then i wouldn't look so stoopid!:D

No4, it's hard to be the Evil Genius, isn't it? :) Awww, grab a beer, jump in the hot tub! I'm sure whatever time zone, there'll be plenty of us in the water and enjoyin' the scenery!

Hope my wife doesn't see this post! :D

Given the predominantly male audience, how about NO pictures for starters? :D

Works for me.

Maybe we can get the Cozy Girrls, Chrissi & Randi to join us.

http://www.cozygirrrl.com/

People can download a cheeshecake shot of Randi from their web site at http://www.cozygirrrl.com/randicheese.htm

For anyone who hasn't met the Girrrls, they're a real trip. Smarter than the average Joe (or Jane) by a long way, and full of interesting ideas. I beleive that they're 13B retractable Cozy IV is making good progress.

PS - Steve - bring you're wife.

Not that anyone misses this, but I removed the 'hot-tub' sub-forum some time ago. There were not any canard-related posts there.
