  1. I had the Summit belts with rotary closure but mistakenly ordered 3" and they were awful. Now have the Hookers with simple closure and they are fabulous. 1-1/2" belts with very nice pads. The lap belt is not something easily adjusted while seated. But once set up they are great.
  2. Looking for parts for a Terra 760D Com Radio. Or a dead one for parts...
  3. From the CEO on another forum: In any case, look forward to the release in January of TEN !!! new instruments from us. How is that for a teaser ? No, I'm not allowed to give any details yet.
  4. Thanks Wayne, for putting this in perspective. I'll pass on the great "deal" I found on a Gen 3. Chrissi, what I don't understand is the need for 200 conections in light of this from ACS: "Just hook up Pitot and Static lines, install the included GPS antenna and magnetometer, add 9-32 volts and away you go. Sounds like they are fooling somebody!" Thank you all for help in making the decision. Back to filling and sanding.....
  5. Does anyone have any experience with this unit? I have one response that it was a pretty crummy unit and wondered if that was an isolated experience. I've seen the big BMA unit work really well but have also heard horror stories about the software and updayes. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
  6. We've gotten WAY off topic here but this is the link you're looking for: http://www.ez.org/orr20050110.htm Now, back to Hooker belts, these are great units. Just installed mine tonight. But the lap belt is not easy to adjust in the cockpit of a Long EZ. So the front seat setup is fine for the regular pilot, unless your beer and pasta intake varies a lot! But to use them in the back seems like a pain as one would have to constantly adjust them for the passengers as they change in 'thickness' of lower extremities.... Any input out there, or comments on the plans attachment points.....?
  7. Mine has been on for 100 hours, up to 17,999' and 213 knots with no ill side effects. But after reading all this, I think I'll remove it.
  8. Miller taped mine. I have no idea why. I missed out on a lot of explanations... At least half of the work done on my plane was very good and a big improvement. The other half - not so much of one or the other or both. Don't know which one this is but sounds like a good idea from what I've read?
  9. Interesting nobody commented on this....I meant ailerons.
  10. Has anyone scrapped and/or parted out a Terra transponder? Am looking for replacement switches and Free Flight no longer services them.... May also be interested in a working version if anyone is trading up. Thanks, Dave
  11. Does anyone have a recommendation for a white tape to seal seams, elevators etc.? Mine is splitting and needs replacement. Have tried a couple tapes from sailpane sites and it is either semi transparent or doesn't stick very well, or won't hold up to bending or..... Thanks.
  12. Has anyone installed Hooker Sport Belts in their Canard? Am looking into these and don't know what to ask for in terms of lengths and ends etc.
  13. Nemesis NXT (Neoteric eXperimental Technology) is a two place, retractable gear, single engine, kit airplane of all molded carbon fiber construction allowing a very sleek aerodynamic profile. I parked next to Relentless last Sunday at Salinas and learned a lot about the hottest looking plane in the sky or on the ground. Carbon works fine, just has to be done correctly. One has crashed and the pilot walked away and rebuilt it. By the way he is going to E-Bay it soon starting at $400,000. 500 HP wasn't enough so they are building a new one starting with 700 or so.....
  14. If it was back up it must not have lasted long......
  15. Joe, Did you recess your roll over structure into the longerons or take material out of the canopy frame? Thanks!
  16. Drew, I need to replace the toggle switch on my speed brake from one that I have to hold down to go down and comes up with a flip to one that goes down with a flip too. What would that be called? Thanks, DV
  17. It seems so amazing that the Starship is in the crapper and the RV is taking over the Experimental world. But I guess it's OK to be a rebel!

  20. EZ-Trim Altitude Hold Unit Description & Specifications What is it? The Ez-Trim is a small low cost unit that provides basic altitude hold function for homebuilts. I wanted a economical unit for my E-Racer canard. I could not find one, so I started designing my own. After several months and over half a dozen different test units, I had a unit that worked. It has been used and tested with a MAC pitch trim servo attached to the PTH trim lever and the Strong pitch trim servo. It will maintain the selected altitude very well in smooth air conditons. In turbulence it will keep trying but you may prefer to fly manually. The key is getting the unit adjusted to the plane properly using the response adjustments provided. It has front panel adjustment screws to allow you to adjust its response to your particular homebuilt. It is intended to provide missing altitude hold when used with a wing leveler like the Navaid Devices unit. It sends control to the relays that control the electric pitch trim servo. The unit is designed to provide altitude hold function using a pitch trim servo through relays. The unit does not have the current capacity to directly drive the servo. Since the unit controls using the pitch trim it is easy to override if there is a malfunction.
  21. Does anyone have a picture of their scoop at the foam stage? Am a non-builder trying to redo the lip that was previously cut off mine and am just guessing on how to start.... Thank you.

    Batteries

What are the current battery recommendations? I'll need to replace a B&C 35 Amp battery that isn't holding it's charge. Thought I'd see if there is something better out there in the collective experience. Am waiting on a scale this afternoon to verify all the specs I'll need to match as close as possible. Thank you.
  23. If this fellow from Ft. Collins reads this forum....here is a link for a latch for hatches. I'm unable to sign in at EZ.org for some reason......? http://www.advancedaviationinc.com It is pricey but has helped create some very nice installations in the RV world. I'm looking into auto versions for gas tank doors and will follow up on that if anyone is interested. Unfortunately most auto stuff like this is also ridiculously expensive. Will also look into a salvage yard for recent model vehicles.
  24. What file type is Corel? The one above I have, (thank you anyway!) and have tried to enlarge it with poor results. May have to hand trace it if I can't open Corel.... Thanks all!
