I thought of doing something similar or maybe two outside the airflow to the NACA inlet. Just more complex, not necessary, and more time I can't spend flying the thing.I had at one time thought of putting holes in the belly board- but didnt think long about it.

If you see him, don't ever piss this guy off. By the way Steve, did I ever thank you for the hammer at Rough River? You wanted an answer you shall recieve it. NO NOT NOW NOT EVER question answered Steve Build on

Is this it Steve?? You've gone to the 20B side for sure? And still not smoking? Daddy proud o' you! By the way, 150#? Dude, go get a burger and stop spending on the plane for food. Good luck!

yep, wouldn't hurt

Something else to think about: When I do large or complex layups the epoxy will get kind of thick as it cools off to room temp. Whether I do the layup with plastic over it to squeegee excess epoxy out or stipple, I'll sometimes hit it with the heat gun to get the epoxy flowing again. I've noticed I get a lot more bubbles with it as it also heats the foam and I go back and look for bubbles a few hours later as well. I peel ply EVERYTHING which sometimes complicates the problem. I learned early that peel ply will shrink when heat is applied. You think you have a nice tight layup when it shrinks but it will continue to make problems as it pulls at the layup and causes bubbles. I still use the heat gun when the layup and peel ply is complete so the excess epoxy bleeds through the peel ply. Just not so much heat now.

Anyone got a cordless Fein?....... do you think they would miss them?
I've seen aluminum ones on older planes.
By the way, what's with all the commercial planes sitting in Mojave? This a mothball site or junk yard?
-
Mike's got it.

Although I haven't looked yet but there has to be a million of those closeable overhead vents the airlines use. Seem just right for our application.

No wonder I can't find mine!

In the eye of the beholder I guess. Lots of snarky that can't fly too. Snarky is as snarky does. All though they do look pretty snarky.

Hey Stevo! Your cat have an enima on the side of your plane?
Looks like we're still at the same stage. Strakes look great! Looks like my storage door in the nose.

Ain't those Aerocad wings just the Shiiizzz?!

Jack's having some PC problems. He's asked me to submit these for him....
Here is the broken exhaust and toasted lower cowl. Next is the fix. As always, great professional work.
...should I show more?
-
Jack,
Aha! Exactly what I've been asking about for months with no answers! Years and years of canards and design mods and I could never find an answer to this one. Great! So, how about the soot? Any problems?
-
Are you saying its down then straight back like 4 and 8 o'clock?I now have the exhaust going straight out the bottom cowl and so far they work fine, have about 20 hrs and no problems or change in airspeed.

New FYI:
With that enlightening update, wish I could have gotten the new Aerocad plans. I have the wings but would have been nice to have that wider fuse. I'll add here that if anyone orders the wings and canard from Al, they'll fot your Cozy IV plans without a hitch. The only thing is the Aerocad wings have a different forward to aft AOA orientation line than the Cozy plans. The latest plans have a fair amount of CAD enhancements to the drawings in them (WARNING: CAD printouts are not inherently a good thing). Regardless, there are differences in dimensions for the landing gear, rear seat, turtleback shape, and I suspect (hope) the strakes.

Seriously, are you really interested in buying a pusher aircraft or are you just interested in speaking your mind through an avitar? We enjoy helping newcomers with good advice but this is just a bit creepy. Maybe your Eminence may want to meet Mr. Hand from South Park?Gentlemen:
I am only the Purveyor of Catness. Shoot not the messenger no matter the mess.

Just an FYI. I once had both Aerocad and Cozy MKIV plans. They appeared identical except the Cozy plans were larger print. They both even had that goofy looking cartoon guy. I'm thinking Nat gave Jeff Russel the rights to copy his plans verbatum. Obviously, there's areas where the prefab parts have prefab assembly instructions.

This is a GREAT DEAL and a GREAT START for anyone who need a jump start and has a few bucks. I'm thinking 6 months to a year lead time (reality time).

I'll probably get zapped by the topic nazis on this... Aha! That's why the Ron Paul banner!I get all of Limbaugh's shows on MP3's. I haven't missed a show in two years.
I am so amazed of all the old school rock (yes, its now old school) garages here. I still have a few favorites on CD but I have to spin the dial. Sometimes modern or self loathing rock "89X" here in Detroit. I try the WCXS here but it is to me the same old stuff I've heard a million times. Like a PBJ sandwich. Detroit doesn't have that "mix-it-up" stations like other states. We have everything pretty well segregated but its still the same 20 hit songs of the month regardless of type. I kind of like that variety station stuff but not like Metallica and religion mix. My CD collection is okay if the CD player doesn't puke from too much dust. And my casette player had died from being drowned by epoxy. Receiver still cranks though I won't touch it without nitrile gloves on.

Stevo,
You ever get that rear hatch system figured out?

Steve, if fat letters is all the anger you posess, no damage done. Anyone who knows you know you're a good kid.
Sorry about the pitot tube. Maybe sometimes you just need to put the chain saw down and pick up a sawsall....kidding.
