  1. Lengthening would be a real challenge, but, if you're tall, you might consider moving the front seatback aft an inch or two with out affecting moment very much... especially if you're on the heavy side.

Widening, OTOH, shouldn't be too difficult, and it's been done (and flown). You would be amazed at what 2-3" in width makes in the feel.

  2. Dust,

<The archives are, in my opinion a waste of time.>

IMHO, you're WAY out of line with your comment about the Archives being a waste of time. I personally have gleaned numerous hints and tricks which have saved me time and money.

<Why don't you take your additude to your workwhop and get something positive out of it, we really don't need it here.>

Once again, IMHO, Marc has been one of the most neutral "attitude" types I've seen on this band of the Web.

Instead of slamming other people about their attitude, (which I feel is non-existent in Marc Zeitlin's case), or their opinions, your time would be better spent improving your achive search skills.

<Marc, I talked to the MANUFACTURERS rep of mgs and they specfically told me NOT to use a kerosene heater, so if you would like to, go ahead, i will stick to the mfg recommendations.>

Would you expect a Company Rep to say anything else? (I smell LIABILITY!!!)

Maybe when YOUR plane is in the air you'll understand where Marc is coming from.

  3. Hey John,

    Earlier you wrote:

<<Jerry (the tent) Schnider, Bulent (the scoop) Alieve, Jim (the door) Sower, The Cozy Girrrls, Myself (via NY) with Rich Hughes to name just a few. Unfortunately Marc (the pits) Zeitlin won't be able to make it. >>

Wouldn't you be more aptly described as "Myself (the porch")??:D

  4. >Does anyone have any experience with Aero-Cad?

I've purchased a number of their products, and can say unequivocally (sp?), they were of excellent quality. Jeff and Greg have always been willing to lend a helping hand in the advice/support department as well. Only wish more companies used their M.O..

    FWIW

  5. I definitely have the right stuff... although I'll check it again this evening.(The 5th time)

Maybe the term "considerable slop" was over over kill. The joint fits the thinner walled tubing "a little loosely", but they fit the thicker wall tubing perfectly (while adding <1 oz of weight). The more I think about it, I may just paint the interior of the plans tubes and be done with it. (Corrosion protection  )

John, did you.. or anyone else out there for that matter, paint the torque tubes?

  6. I'm in the process of assembling the aileron torque tubes/bearings/what-not.... and I've noticed a considerable amount of "slop" in the fit of the torque tube to universal joint when using the 3/4" x .058" tubing (CS151). Whereas if I use .065" wall tubing, it fits like a glove. Is this to allow for a layer epoxy primer paint or something else I haven't read about yet?

    TIA

  7. No. I didn't trim the spar. I trimmed the wing "lip" to get thigs to line up laterally. I think maybe you were referring to vertical misalignment. Any minor misalignment in the vertical plane will be fixed later w/micro. I wouldn't trim the spar at all.

  8. My logic is this, John: The original question was "let them post for profit", no mention of a fee. Now, if the webmaster charges for ad space, I see no cost problem. But, I wouldn't want the ads to come up as a new post either. I get enough spam as it is.
