Cozy Mark IV Project for Sale

Recommended Posts

I am the President of EAA Chapter 180 in Sarasota FL.  One of our members passed away recently and the wife is giving our Chapter her husband's Cozy Mark IV wings and fuselage parts.  We'd like to sell these to make some money for the Chapter.  What are they worth?

I split this into its own thread. Jim, as I mentioned in your private message to me... post a list of what's in there and attach a few pictures. You'll have tire kickers and serious buyers in no time.

Jon,

I'm Jim Faix, president of EAA 180 in Sarasota FL.  See attached photos.  There are 2 unfinished wings and 2 sections of fuselage.  Also 2 boxes containing rolled drawings.  We'll be picking them up probably next week.  We're trying to sell these to make some money for our chapter.  If you know anyone who might be interested, please put them in touch with me.

Kind regards,

Jim Faix

Those fuselage parts aren’t used for the Cozy and I would say they have no value.

The wings are match drilled to the main spar, and I see the main spar at the bottom of the parts pile in the 1st photo.  If the wing/spar work looks good, you might get $1k to $2k

Seller really needs to set the parts out and take pictures.  Someone would buy the wings--guessing $1000.  I don't see what I'd call a center spar.  Plans: maybe $250.  The Aerocad parts are hard to value.  I'd put $1200 on it and hope for a quick sale.

I see what looks like one of the steel inserts (spar hardpoint) on a part under the wings, on the floor.  Pretty sure its the main spar.

Did this sell? If not do you want to sell the plans separate? Thanks

Hey Curtis, building from plans is very macho  but if you want to buy 1000 hours of labor for zero dollars and get a whole bunch of materials at a 50% discount, check the Salinas,  CA cozy project I just listed in my "Sales I've seen" thread.  This is a "Cozy-on-the-curb".  Just drive by and pick it up  🙂
