TMann
WARNING: Non-expert opinion follows - Chris, Perhaps hitting the jeffco with a heat gun would satisfy the two issues brought up here on this thread. Simulate a drop in temp over the cure proces/timeline Temporary reduction in humidity. I figure the heat would also lower the viscosity to help reduce pinholes but again I go back to my disclaimer. Also, I would suggest prepping the area by sandblasting (the cheapo harbor freight variety unit). I believe Wayne Hicks has that on his web site. I've played with it and it works fine but of course you'll have to deal with the clean-up. I for one really appreciate the time you have taken to share this issue with those of us who are approaching this chapter. I may have to construct some test blanks and let them soak as I work on other chapters. Looking forwad to seeing your bird in the air! CBarber
I tried sand blasting (aluminum oxide) this afternoon. It was NOT effective. I got MUCH better and faster results with a small "flapper" sanding wheel on a drimel...oh, I mean "rotary tool":D It will be tedious regardless. If you look at these shots, this is how it peeled up. the far left picture is the way it was hanging down. It was all chucky/flacky in this kinda spackled manner. Here are some more pictures. ****WARNING****, they are not for the faint of heart. All the best, Chris Quote Christopher Barber Velocity SE/FG w/yoke. Tom Nalevanko
A question? After you applied the Jeffco and it dried, was it a shiny color or dull? A good cure is quite shiny and has a lustrous, smooth feel. Mine was very shiny fyi...

Houston, Texas...Home of drinkable air. Thanks for the insight though. All the best, Chris Could be worse, in corpus on certain days you can swim in it. Quote We make no mistakes, ONLY INNOVATIONS!
