Gothic-crow
I did my 22 layer lay up but when i measured the thickness, it was 3/16 and not 1/4. should I add more layers or go with the 3/16?
Jerry Schneider
If you've got the required # of layers and the stuff doesn't look starved, go with what you have.... You can always add another layer or 2 if necessary. Quote "I run with scissors." Jim Wilson
The plans (M-5) have a 1/4" hole drilled in the hard point of the forward gear attach bulkhead at 4.3". If you measure the plans its actually at 4.125" from the bottom of the bulkhead. Which location is correct?
Wayne Hicks
If they're Cozy IV plans, use the stated dimension. The hole location is wrong on the drawing. My general rule of thumb is to use the stated dimension when given. It's a sign to me that Nat calculated or measured something. Jim Wilson
Thanks for the thumbrule, I stick with the stated dimensions when given.
Jon Matcho
I'll second Wayne's comment and add that some of the plans are NOT drawn to scale. I spent some quality head-scratching time looking at the plans for where to put the electrical conduit, and could only figure it out by reading ahead to understand its purpose as part of the "system". Sometimes you have to look at the pictures at the end of the chapter, or surf the Web for other's interpretations.
