Cozy1200
Dust This came threw the list a while back. I believe this guy bought the Franklin off Nat. Maybe it can help. http://www.rapidnet.com/~mikejjs/Cozy/Project.html Quote Drew Chaplin (aka the Foam Whisperer) --- www.Cozy1200.com - I'm a builder now! --- Brace for impact... lacoss
you are correct. Michael Joyce did buy the franklin engine that was on Nat's cozy, but he sold it. The good news is that I am the one who bought it. If I can be of help let me know. I do not read this forum too often but I read the cozy_builder@canard.com every weekday. dust
Nat was not happy with this engine, he put a 220 hp prop on it and it didn't have the power to drive it, changed to the lycoming 180 hp prop he had and it worked, but, he didn't get the same speed as with the lycoming. I THINK i know why, if you look into old franklin manuals, you may find that the 220 hp rpm amount is quite a bit higher than a lycoming. it may be in the 3600 or so range. I would do some research and size my prop accordingly to make the rated hp of this set up. but please don't rely on my friends memory, it was a long time ago when he was in the service. enjoy the build dust Quote maker wood dust and shavings - foam and fiberglass dust and one day a cozy will pop out, enjoying the build i can be reached at http://www.canardcommunity.com/
