  1. HardKnox, I have been looking for a material to use on the center portion of the pedal tubes where they pass through the keel. I will check into this one.
  2. Rob, there is plenty of room for movement of the pedals it is just the camera angle that makes it look so close.
  3. At this point I am thinking I will build some sort of mounting bracket attached to the NG-30s.
  4. Yep, already thought about this one and did some research sitting in the cockpit going through the motions and all seemed to work well.
  5. I installed them hanging so that I wouldn't have the tube going across the floor. This will clear up space for the passenger’s feet. Yes, those are bearings on the ends this is an idea I got from another builder. The end hub is set up just like a roller blade wheel with two bearings on each end attached to the shaft. There is a retaining collar in the middle of the bearings to hold the entire assembly in place.
  6. Rob, here are a couple other pics I hope they help. Notice the bulkhead extensions have not yet been glassed on nor have the mounting ends been glasssed. I also plan to beef up the area where the tubes pass through the bulkheads.
  7. For some reason it only loaded on of my pics. I will try it later
  8. Here is what I did today. I have temporarily hung my Dennis Olemann rudder pedals to test fit all the mounts. I can't take credit for the idea however I like the way everything turned out.
  9. it comes with no video you would have to buy that from acs
  10. I have a brand new set of Cozy MKIV plans for sell I bought them about 3 months ago from AC for $500 I won't be able to build as I had planned so I have decided to sell them. They are listed on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4522774848&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT Thanks Erick
  11. Well I have made the choice to go with the Cozy MKIV I have already received plans from ACS #1330 and have purchased an electric front retract, front strut and nose gear assembly from a builder that decided to discontinue with his project. I am also working on the purchase of Infinity retracts from another builder. All this is going on while I am in the middle of buying a new home with a 3 car (aka Cozy Hanger) garage... I hope to get started building sometime after the first of 2005.. I am so excited to begin, Erick
  12. I have been trying to figure out the placement of the baggage pods and how are they fastened to the wing? Would anyone like to share how they designed their pods? Erick
  13. Thats kinda what I was thinkg just draw the lines out to make it smoother and not such a sharp angle. Thanks, Erick
  14. Does anyone have the infinity retracts that they would like to sell? ERICK

    Long nose

Hi, Now I have yet to begin building yet or for that matter even order the plans (Probably next week) But I am wondering if the Cozy has the option of a longer nose like that of the long ez? Can a builder just shape the nose as he wishes? Erick
  16. Thanks Jon, I can't decide either a cozy or the long ez, I like the idea of building the cozy due to the builder support as well as being able to carry more than one person or at least more cargo than the EZ. I've been looking at all the information I can find on building and I have to admit even though I consider myself quit the handy man building an airplane seems a little much. I get inspiration by reading web sites such as your and the others who have choosen to take on the task. Erick
  17. I am considering buying plans for a long EZ I just want to know if it is still possible to get all the parts and materials needed to build this aircraft before I begin.. Thanks, Erick
  18. Hello, I have a question that might get this thread going again... I am wondering would it be possible to retrofit retracts to an already built Long EZ? Thanks, Erick
  19. Tardif, If you have not yet sold your long ez I would be interested in seeing some photos and information on your plane. erickredfern@msn.com Thanks, Erick Redfern
  20. Hi, I am new to the zone and have not yet started any project, I am trying to learn as much as I can before taking the first step. I have accumulated about 105 hrs of flight time in the traditional 152, 172 and katana but have grown tired of these low speed trainer aircraft and the high expense of renting them. I love the specs and looks of the varieze and the long ez, their seating and controls remind me of a fighter aircraft. I would like to meet a pilot that lives close enough to Ogden Ut. and would be willing to show me the basics of flying these machines plus having a actual plane and builder close by would be nice while building. Any one out there interested I will happily buy the fuel Erick Redfern
  21. My location is Ogden Utah airport OGD Lunch is on me
  22. Marc and Dan, How do pilots learn to fly planes such as an EZ where there is no control stick in the rear of the plane? What is the insurance for a something like a EZ run for a low time pilot? This is just so new to me please excuse the ignorant questions. Erick Redfern
  23. Hello, I am a low time 110 hour pilot that has been thinking of buying myself an airplane. Well lets just say that on my budget all I could afford would be a 30+ year old cessna that can harley achieve 100 knots. So that got me looking at the idea of buying a kit plane and when comparing cost and performance I find myself liking planes such as Cozy's, Velocitys and the like. Now I am wondering if some pilots would like to chim in on there experiences with being a low time pilot in an aircraft such as these? Or even what your opinon is for a low time pilot? I would also like to meet a canard pilot who would be interested in taking me up for a demo flight so I can experience what these planes are like. I would like to buy a plane already built and ready to fly or at least somewhat completed. Anyway it is nice to find this forum and I hope to make some friends along the way. Thanks, Erick
