SP314
Hello All, Just joined the forum. I'm very interested in the single seat quickie. Hoping to learn more about it and maybe connect with someone who's selling their flying or formerly flying aircraft. Quick question, I believe the airplane can be flown as an LSA. Is that correct? Kent Ashton
We don't see much traffic on the single-seat Quickie here. You might look at https://www.quickheads.com/ . IMO, it's in the same class as a Cri-cri-- a toy with not much utility. I have seen one started with a cockpit pull-starter like a lawn mower. It seems to fit the Light Sport rules http://www.lightsportaviationllc.com/light-sport-rules/ You might be better off building an Open-EZ (Long-ez). The plans are on this website and there is good support for them. It is a much more capable design and wouldn't take too much longer to build than a Quickie. Or a Varieze if you can find the plans. Anthony P
If you have not already, sign up here. https://q-list.groups.io/g/main There is a subgroup for the Q1. There is a current builder who posts here and on the Q-list. There is a fly-in in the fall in Iowa where two very nice flying examples will be. I'm sure other opportunities before then.
