Does anyone know / have seen a Rotax 912S or 914 monted on a VariEze. I intend to do this, in France, and an existing project would be very helpfull, in particular to convince french civilian aero administration to accept this modification from originals drawings of Burt.

I see that Glenn Saunders in this post says he has a Rotax in his Varieze  and seemed to be happy with it   http://www.ez.org/smf/index.php?topic=226.0

Unfortunately, he and his airplane are dead    http://www.cozybuilders.org/Glenn_Saunders/Letter_To_Med_Examiner.pdf

I remember that one now.  A plastic fuel-flow transducer cracked and he had a fire.  However, the engine seemed to work.  The report says this is the only Vari/Rotax in 2005.  The only thing I would add is that these airplanes are not good airplanes for experimenting with engines.  They land fast and are prone to flipping over.

Ok than's a lot Kent. It is a big "step" to know that it have been done.

Unfortunatly, Glenn's knowledge regarding Rotax on VE is gone with him...

If someone got photos of Glenn's aircraft, data, w&b, all that can be helpfull.

This is a new diesel being developed that might work for you.  Comparable to the Continential, O-200, they say, and bigger versions planned.
