court Posted September 2, 2023 Posted September 2, 2023 Was anyone able to get the plans from this gentleman? I tried both the emails he posted and they are both out of service. I'm curious about the updated drawings and templates he mentioned. Plus with Burt's stance on sharing plans and the fact that it doesn't brake any rules, I'd love to get a copy / copies. Quote
zolotiyeruki Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 Kent's post from 2021 is still valid. The plans are available on this forum for free Quote
Tyger Anarchy 6K Posted May 8 Posted May 8 Hello 👋 all. I'm a newbie, ass green as it gets w homebuilt aircraft but I have a background in metal fabrication, licensed electrician and skilled carpenter (with extensive set of tools). I'm wondering is there anywhere I can download study plans for a few different types (high wing/stol, canard, folding wing, pusher, gyroplanes etc)? I've been researching homebuilts for a few years now and just wanted to really see what it's about. So far, I'm actually really intrigued by the Davis DA2 and would really like to modify into a 4 place, but that's down the line. So, if anyone can help me out, point me in the right direction or have study plans they wouldn't mind sharing (preferably digital format as I'll be studying and not building (at least not yet). I will also be very grateful for as much advice as possible. Please and thank you guys in advance for any and all guidance. God bless 🙏 you and yours my friends. My email is [email protected] Quote
zolotiyeruki Posted May 8 Posted May 8 The most popular Rutan designs (Long-EZ, Varieze, Defiant, Quickie) are all more-or-less readily available to peruse and build from. I think Van's will sell you a USB stick with an excerpt from their plans, and they have practice kits to help hone your skills as well. The KR2S plans are effectively open-source as well, although you'll need to join their mailing list and ask someone to give you a copy. Quote
Tyger Anarchy 6K Posted May 9 Posted May 9 You say Mr Rutan's plans are available but failed to lead me in the direction of. Where do I find this material, please and thank you, because I cannot locate any of it, whatsoever. Quote
