SpaceShipOne
Hey! ... I'm a new comer here, studying the option to go for an Aerocanard FG. I was just wondering, in the building process, what kind of parts can be ordered already assembled? Apparently on the aerocad.com, you can get the wings / canard assembled. Thanks, Tony
Jon Matcho
Tony, www.aerocad.com is your best source for information, but you should be able to get just about everything prefab. Fuselage, strakes, turtledeck, wings, and rudders? Check w/AeroCad for the details. While I'm looking at all options (Aerocanard, Cozy MKIV...), I'm still in the fog and I really don't know which route I should take. Basically my project was defined as a Long-EZE project: I was looking for a canard based on the Lyc. O 235 engine... I found a set of plans which should arrive at home soon. I like the way the LE is! But I'm aware that most of the LE builders are flying rather than building so it doesn't help to take a decision ! Good luck Jon with your project anyway Tony
Jerry Schneider
Preamble: I'm building a Cozy MKIV using the AeroCanard upper firewall profile. I just HAD to have more headroom in the back seat. Friendly caveat to AeroCanard Shoppers: Make sure you DO NOT use the prices you see on the AeroCad website. They are woefully out of date. They will gladly send you an updated price list. Example: Upper/Lower Cowling (Website) $350 Upper/Lower Cowling (Actual) $455 PLUS $100 shipping est. Hopefully, the shipping will come in a little less. I just ordered the upper cowling and learned the hard way Al Aldrich (Owner) says he'll have it to me in 30 days. (Tick Tick Tick...) I'll post an update regarding quality/timeliness when the product is delivered. I've bought other stuff when Jeff Russell was producing, so, I have a pretty good idea of the baseline. I hope things work well, as I really like the AeroCanard and would like to see it succeed. Quote "I run with scissors."
