dust
Well, a week from saturday is a big day in our plane careers. We cut a hold in the family room floor and remove two fuselodges, 4 wings, 2 landing gear for final work in the garage. 5/17/2003, almost six years to the day of starting them. who hoo Many are amazed at a hole, i'm amazed at the planes!!!, the hole is easy Quote maker wood dust and shavings - foam and fiberglass dust and one day a cozy will pop out, enjoying the build i can be reached at http://www.canardcommunity.com/
Aaron
So once you get them in the family room, what then? Cut an 11 foot wide hole in the wall? Congrats though, that's quite an accomplisment (the planes, not the hole)
dust
Actually the hole isn't that bad, just 1 joist x about 4 feet and all of the parts will fit fine, we hope, we do have an 10.5 foot ceiling to work with and then it's throught the living room, kitchen and out the sliding glass doors. Hank Stauffenberg
You better make sure that your "slaves" get a copy! Just remember, breath and be GENTLE!!!!
dust
OK, we did the math today and 2 joists may, could, might, probably would do it so we will take 3 joists out so that the may fly doesn't bite us. A call to all slaves, I mean helpers, we NEED you at 12:00 next saturday. It is plane lifting day, no, not with an engine and a runway and aeronotic lifting forces on the wings, but with sheer muscle power, supplied by our own muscles on all surfaces on edges we can grasp. The formula for lift on this plane raising is not in an aernotical text book, it is in your arms and legs. dust
We buy 100% nylon for peel ply at the fabric store for CHEEP, that batch was zebra and the ink went into the layup a little, doesn't seem to have affected it and we like the looks, but alas, no zebra for years now, just orange, black, pink, white, etc. Quote maker wood dust and shavings - foam and fiberglass dust and one day a cozy will pop out, enjoying the build i can be reached at http://www.canardcommunity.com/

Dave Clifford
Talked to the reporter from the Ann Arbor News today. Her and a photographer will be her at 11:00 a.m. to document the chaos this saturday. Spent a few hours today removing wiring and heat supply runs from the area of "surgery". Placed tempory supports for the floor inplace. Been planing this since the beginning, May of 1998. This will be a peice of cake!! Most think I am out of my mind!! Quote Dave Clifford "The Metal Man" Musketeer Vise grip hands and Micrometer eyes!! dust
Well, it turned out to be quite a bash! Over 30 people and two newspapers showed up. We wore our matching blue plane shirts and had a grand day. Clifford had food for all. The actual planes raising was quite noneventful, 4 in basement up to 4 on top - up and out for the fuselodges. The wings, canards and spars were a 3 and 2 man event. The whole was sealed/carpet stretched out before we left at 5:00 I will post pictures quickly/ as i am gathering them up from the hundreds of cameras that were at the "event". he he he Quote maker wood dust and shavings - foam and fiberglass dust and one day a cozy will pop out, enjoying the build i can be reached at http://www.canardcommunity.com/
