  2. The time has come for me to start looking for a prop for my long-ez, I had writen to catto props 4 diferent times, no answer so far, so I will like to know what would be the best choice for a prop for a long-ez powered by a Lycoming O-235-C2C engine. I did read something about a hertzel prop in a message in the canard-aviators forum, but I do not know how to contact them, so I ll really appreciate some help:feedback:
  3. Hello Afif, I am happy to hear you are back in the air, your airplane looks great. I will like to know if you can post a close picture of the aluminum piece that you installed under the nose, I´m planing to do something similar in my airplane, so it will be great if I can take a look of yours. It is good to know that there is a Long-EZ airplane near by. I´m building mine here in Costa Rica, so maybe we can meet some day. Thanks and congratulations.
  4. Building a Long-EZ S/N 1434, structure complete, working on electrical wiring system and engine installation.
  5. Hello everyone, I do avionics installations for an avionics shop and I also fly a corporate citation jet for a private company here in Costa Rica.
  6. Hello Jon, thanks, these are exactly gauges the I was looking for, thank you very much. Cheeers.
  7. Hello everybody, does anybody knows how to do that nice looking fuel site gauges that looks like a clear plastic tube?, I have seen them in many EZs pictures and they look great, vary easy to read from the front seat. Can somebody tell me how to find them?. Thanks
  8. i have checked the CP 24 & CP 25 and have found in the CP 25 Page 4 a reference to it saying that from that moment on you had to send an envelope to the rutan factory, in order to receive the landing light installation drawings, so I will ask Rutan factory to see if they still have it. Thank's for your guidance. Cheers.
  9. Hello every body, I will like to know which would be the best O-320 engine to buy for my LEZ for installation purposes, I will also like to know somebody have a Jabiru 3300 engine in his LEZ or if someone knows if this will work, I like this engine because of: weight= 178 pounds, HP= 120, cylinder 6 and therefor smoother operation, price= $14,900, TBO= 2000 Hrs ...etc but if this engine does not work foe my LEZ than I have the O-320 as the best choice for performance. I will really appreciate any feedback.
  10. Hi Filipo, I will like to buy the whole seat belt set as well as some of the instruments, but I dont have Nancys Email address, so I will like to know how to buy them. Regards. mynor@flyingez.com
  11. I already have the GU canard built, as you can see here, so I will buy the vortex generators.
  12. It sounds like a good landing light to install in a Long-EZ. Thanks for your advice Delta Mike.
  13. that is true, I will have to move the aileron bellcranck to the left to prevent from touching the eng mount when turning right, that I will do next week, but back to those extrusions, do you think that is ok to keep them even if I already have in my materials warehouse the 1" X 1 1/2" X 1/8" 2024-T3 aluminum angle extrusions pieces, waiting for me to make my mind up?. Are they the best way to go even if I have to move the aileron bellcrank?. that web site that you told me, offers a nice set of vortex generators, which I think I wil buy cause been this (Costa Rica) a tropical country, you have to deal with the rain sometimes, so is a good idea to have them installed, Thanks.
  14. Hi Waiter, I am posting here two pictures, one is from the outside and one is from inside the plane, for what I can see, I have the same extrusions that Mick Duckt used in his N7XR (you can see them here: www.bridgingworlds.com/LEZ13B/LEZ13B.htm or you can simply write Mick Duckt N7XR in google and it will take you there. the reason I think I got the same extrusions is: mine are also made out of 4130 square steel tube with welded plates at the ends, and they look almost the same way of the ones you told me, so here are the pictures. Thanks for your help, I think I'm going to keep them, and use an O-320 instead of the O-235-C2C that I already have. Regards.
  15. Hey Jon, yes it is, but is only in this side, because the other side is been protected. Regards.
  16. Hi waiter, thanks for your reply, here is the thing, just as you said they are square, what you see in the firewall is just this 4 square points, now behind the firewall all I see is a piece of aquare tube --say 3/4" X 3/4"-- as long as the original extrusions used to be, I will take pictures of the back as well as some messurements and post it tomorrow. What I am worried about is that I never saw any extrusions like this in a Long-EZ before and I don't know if they are stronge enough for the engine( O-235 or O-320 ). Regards.
  17. Hey guys, this how the speed brake electric actuator installation looks like so far.
  18. Hi every body, I'm building a long-EZ that was started by another builder, and then sold to two other long-EZ builders, so I am the fourth builder of this airplane and I am checking every detail again:( , so I found the firewall extrusions changed and I am trying to find out what will be the best thing to do here, to modify the engine mount or to replace the extrusions for the original ones. I am posting a photo so you can see what I’m talking about. Every input will be really appreciated. Regards.
  19. Thanks for your answer RPILLIOCCIOTTI, that clear it up for me, so in my particular case, I need a SAE 1 flange propeller. Do you know which are the propeller brands approved for my airplane and engine? cause I have found taht sensenich have the W64HKL-68 but it exceed the 58 inches diameter recomended by Rutan, and the manufactures recomended originally by Rutan, are hard to locate, So I will like to know if you know which TWO BLADE WOOD PROP can I buy for my O-235-C2C Eng Long-EZ?. Once again tanks for your help. Regards.
  20. hello every body, can any one explain me the difference between the SAE type 1 and the SAE type 2 wood propellers for Lycoming O-235 engine? I'm in the process of looking for a propeller and even if have a document that tells me that my O-235-C2C require a SAE type 1 hub propeller, I will like to know if there is some other difference besides the 4 3/8(type 1) and 4 3/4(type 2) inches bolt cyrcle. Thanks.
  21. Magnum, it's nice to know that there is another menber building the same airplane, your long-EZ looks great, keep the good work, you know there is a forum here called project-open-EZ, that is the place I took my templates from-because the starter builder of this airplane had lost them as well as many other documents- but the thing is that, in one of my flights I finally got them printed -full size-in a small printing shop in baja California, and they are as good as the original templates, so I'm using this templates along with the plans and PC's included in the TERF CD to complete this baby, so far so good:) , if you need information or any thing I can help with, all you have to do is ask, and I'll be more than happy to help you. Regards.
  22. I was happy with the work I have done so far in my long-EZ, you know looking every thing becoming a whole piece, but yesterday, when I finished installing the electric actuated air brake, and I tested, the feeling was fantastic, looking the first self moving device in the airplane. So it seems like it is staring to move:D I'll try to post some pictures.

  24. Hey Jon, this is Mynor from Costa Rica, I have that video too and I was so happy to see a long-EZ in action, that I can't wait to have mine finished and flying, it must be incredible to fly a canard airplane. I also download from the FAA webside the AC 90-89A and is a must for the test flight phase, so I recomend you to download that circular, it will be a great help. Later this week I will post some pictures of my project, so you can see how it is going. Regards
  25. Thanks for all the advices, I think the skybright nightlights from GS-AIR are the way to go. I still looking for an option on the landing light, my airplane is 100% original nose, so I´ll have to find out if I can install a landing light in the position Mr Rpellicciotti did -it looks wonderfull- but if I can´t I´m still looking for an option, thanks again. regards.
