Marc. Is the raising of the horizontal area you mentioned simply to add some "beef" to that area to handle the mentioned stresses? It does seem as though there is not enough material there. Also, when making ,or remaking, that ng30 as you recomend would you also recomend radiusing that inside corner above the pivot hole? Vince

Marc. I have been following this thread and reading your posts with great interest. With that said I have one question. Did they teach you at MIT how to solve problems or merely identify them. I have watched you take every part of this nose gear and rip it to shreds in engineering speak. Yet you have offered very little in the way of advice to help solve the problems you have so readily found. Obviously you have a great deal of knowledge but you seem to be very stingy with help . Wow Tony! You really got busy last night. I really like the new setup. I thought the design was headed that way after our conversation. I dont remember which shock you said you were gonna use but if it doesnt have enough spring force to hold the plane up you can always relocate it highier above the caster assemblies horizontal pivot to give more leverage. Anyway keep going I like the direction this is going and the chickens agree. :thumbsup:They told me to tell you "when you sit at the computer to place your feet in a bucket full of live slugs". Good news! The chickens said their death was not necessary and looked at the plans themselves and were impressed with you concept:cool: They also said to watch out for shrunken heads on the runway:D
