  2. I admit to being electrically handicapped! Hence this question. Can I use a simple potentiometer to control instrument lighting or do I need a dimmer?

  4. The aileron addendum calls for 20 degrees up and 22 degrees down using the elevator travel template. Unless I am missing something, I believe those are good numbers. Hercpilot

  6. So do those model numbers have O/V protection? Where can I find that info? If that cannot be determined then I may just do as Chris has done and disable the regulator so as to gain the regulation and overvoltage protection of one of the aftermarket external units! Hercpilot
  7. Hey Waiter, I am attaching a picture of my alternator. The only distinguishing feature I can see is the "ND" stamped on the back. There is no model number to be found anywhere! Unfortunately there is really no way to take the alternator to a shop to have it tested considering I would have to pull the adapter and find a pulley for it.
  8. I have purchased an auto alternator with an adapter from Great Plains for an O-200. I assume that the alternator has no overvoltage protection. How would I know if it does? Hercpilot
  9. Can I run an external voltage regulator/OV control on an internally regulated alternator or do I need to remove the internal regulator from the alternator? Hercpilot

  13. For those of you who have chosen to equip your varieze with strobes, where are you mounting the power supply? The hell hole looks capable of holding the power supply, however I don't feel very comfortable about sticking an ignition source near fuel lines. I would like to keep the 2 lb unit as close to the middle of the cg envelope as possible.

  15. With regards to the varieze, is there such a thing as a continental engine cowling versus a lycoming engine cowling?

  17. where in the plans does it talk about the landing light? the only reference i can find refers to cp-24 or cp-25.
  18. Does it matter which model of O-200 you put on a varieze? Also, can you run stock cylinders with Klaus' pistons?

  20. Thanks for the input guys. And doc, by the way, I did scan the orginals and printed them on my laser printer. I made sure and compared them to the originals. They seem to check out okay. Maybe I am just being to picky about this matter.
  21. Is it just me or do the elevator core template and the contouring template not match too well. It appears that the core template is a little larger than the contouring template and I see no way of ever getting the contouring template to touch as the plans suggest should happen! Any input would help.
