  1. For Neil: Could someone who knows this stuff better than I, pls tell me what my options are to replace the MA-4-5 carb that came with my Lyc O-360. I think the picture is like this; If I opt for fuel injection, I can go with either a Bendix injector, or the newer (and quite expensive) Airflow Performance unit. If I stay with a carb, I can rebuild my MA-4-5, or go with an Ellison TB. Is that about it? What other options are there? Aero- Conversions don't (yet?) make a unit for the O-360. Thanks Neil
  2. For Paul: Does anybody know the part numbers for the O rings in the Weatherhead fuel valve? I need to replacements. I call the manufacturer, and they do not recommend that the valves be disassembled, so they will not tell me the part numbers. This is short sighted IMO because the valves will stick if not lubricated at least yearly. The technician I talked to did tell me that the O rings are not standard. Paul Long EZ 214LP
  3. For Andy: The information on the MGS web pages is as follows; L285 Volume - 100:50 Weight - 100:40 L335 Volume - 100:45 Weight - 100:38 All of the above with a tolerance of +/- 2 parts. 4. For Sam Chambers I hope you have all been able to find the new Rough River Website. I haven't heard of any problems. Just in case you missed the announcement, the website has been moved to its own server and has a distinctive address. The new address is http://www.roughriver.org Try it, you will like it. If you have navigated around the site, you have probably looked at the link labeled "Prizes". Thanks to all who donated prizes for last year's fly-in. Due to my haste, i am sure that some were left out and I apologize for that. With this e-mail, I am looking for prize donotations for the 2002 fly-in. Your donations will be listed on the website for all to see and will be given away by random drawing at Terry and Jan's cabin fling. This year, Bob Bittner will NOT draw for the prizes. As a matter of fact, if he shows up hobbling or on crutches, I am going to have a doctor look at him to assess the validity of his complaints, or just send him to the wrong cabin! If you have something EZ-related to donate for a door prize, or just general aviation stuff that could be used in a canard, please contact me at sam@roughriver.org or click on the link at the bottom of the prizes page. I can also be reached at 270-651-3732 or 270-646-0516. Your donation will be listed on the website for all to see.

  7. For Eric: Dear Nat and All, In the most recent newsletter we are instructed to clamp each side's exhaust pipes together with a stainless steel hose clamp just forward of the baffling. At first thought that made sense, but I'm wondering if heat expansion of the individual pipes might cause stresses somewhere else in the pipes? Additionally, they are each attached to an independent cylinder, firing at different times. We don't share a common piece of baffling between the cylinders because vibration may cause it to crack, what would make the exhaust pipes different? I'm respectfully asking these questions looking for clarification in an important area. I appreciate the efforts that go into the newsletter and this group. Eric
  8. From Jim S From the fuselage out to the calipers, Velocity is the same as EZ, Cozy. I did check that and found no sign of "aneurysm". I don't know, but my guess is that nylaflow would rupture before it would "stretch" very much. Otherwise, how would it be useful as brake line? Thanks for the heads up .... Jim S.
  9. For kclongez... You may want to check where your brake line may be heating up near the rotors and causing a soft area in the lines. Just a thought, I'm not familiar with the brake system on a Velocity. Good Luck, Kerry
  10. I am confused. Is it just you peddle goes to the floor (have you tried pumping it? which would indicated air in the system, or is the brakes just fading you (due to heating up) when you land. To me it seems like we need to define is it brake fade or peddle drop... or both...
