Jon Matcho
Here's another interesting site I just found (that Burt Rutan included in a recent update on his SkiGull). It shows wind direction, speed and temperature (I think) in motion, updated every 3 hours using supercomputer models. http://earth.nullschool.net/#2014/11/08/0000Z/wind/surface/level/overlay=mean_sea_level_pressure/equirectangular=-111.08,0.21,291 Quote Jon Matcho Builder & Canard Zone Admin Now: Rebuilding Quickie Tri-Q200 N479E Next: Resume building a Cozy Mark IV
Cozy846
They look the same but format is different. One will allow calculations at elevations and selection of conditions. Unless I missed it. Would not be the first time. Great sites to keep on hand! Edited March 27, 2015 by Cozy846
Jon Matcho
Your www.windyty.com appears to have the edge, although try clicking and dragging the mouse on the one I shared. The result is VERY interesting in how it handles perspective relative to the globe.
