Mead Adventure
Could someone tell me what would be the most weight on the nose gear at gross weight and forward cg on a Long Eze? I see that you can buy two different size nose gear castings.
Drew Swenson
If you are talking about the casting at the top, get the one with the taper bearings---just installed that several months ago---works great! The original wears and gets sloppy from side to side after time.
Mead Adventure
I was talking about the wheel swivel and fork. How often do the break? Does anyone use the bigger one that I think is for the Cozy Mark IV?
Limo EZ
I am building a Limo EZ which will be heavier than a standard Long EZ. I currently have a fork that I made out of 4130 that I thought could do the job. I am leaning toward the MkIV unit because of watching people taxi through the grass and the electric nose gear raising the plane with pilot on board. Kind of scary. Does anyone use the bigger one that I think is for the Cozy Mark IV?the bigger one is for the 10" dia. tire which is used on the Cozy IV. the Long Ez and cozy 3 use the smaller 8" tire. Mead Adventure
What I was thinking of doing on the bigger stronger fork is trim it shorter and re drill for the axle and mount the smaller tire. Does anyone know how much weight is on the front tire?
