Long Ez nose wheel strut spring

can anyone tell me where I might be able to buy a heay duty nose wheel spring for my brock strut ? for my long ez . or is there a better strut to install instead of the brock strut ? Mine has sagged. Thanks.

This is a good time to switch to a electric retract system. There are 2 systems out there at this time. Jack Wilhelmsin eznoselift.com and Steve Wrights gear (I think he sold his business but the product is still in production)

You should be able to get springs from either electric strut guy that was mentioned in the prior post. Electric or not should not matter.

I built my own hand crank nose lift 22 years ago from the plans.

 

I got the springs and the gears from McMaster-Carr. The part numbers are listed in the manual.

 

You may have compressed the spring but I doupt it. There were a couple of rubber o rings on each end of the spring that may have rotted away.

 

I don't understand what you mean by "Mine has sagged" Is the strut bent or is the nose of the plane lower?

the nose spring is a bit softer than it used to be an sits a bit lower ( the front of the aircraft , so the nose wheel moves a little further backas the nose wheel strut compress )

 

I don't remember seeing any rubber when I pulled it apart ?
