Waiter
I called Jeff direct and got the info I was looking for. Jeff is alive and well, and serves as a consultant to the New owners. He's happy to answer the questions and has good words to say about the new owners and the direction their going. As usual, ElectroAir is in good hands, and very good to deal with Waiter Quote F16 performance on a Piper Cub budget LongEZ, 160hp, MT CS Prop, Downdraft cooling, Full retract visit: www.iflyez.com
britguy59
I need help with a new installation of this Electroair system. So far I have been pretty unhappy with them as a company, and I'm now stuck trying to figure it out. I as told to remove the old impulse coupling (both my mags have them)and put it on the new mag pickup. Unfortunately, it does not work as there is no way to fix the gear in place to time it correctly. Does this mean I have to buy another gear from a non impulse mag for it to work? I cannot set the timing as it is and I'm stuck. The instructions are vague and erronious in some areas. No pictures to help. Can anyone help me with this installation onto an IO-320 with 2 impulse mags? Please. M Hulme Florida

M Hulme Florida what they meant was remove the old non impulse magneto and remove the gear and install it on the new pickupyou can not use the impulse coupling with the electroair. you need a solid gear ( non impulse mag gear ). the impulse coupling is for starting the engine with the mag. You can run a mag with an impulse but you do not need it with the EI as it will fire at the right timing for engine start. the engine will start better on the EI then the mag. so many run a non impulse mag and the EI system.
