LargePrime
I have, like many, been looking at the infinity gear. If one had the strut gear mounted at the end of the spar, one could have a straight vertical landing gear. From a drag point of view, a well faired straight vertical, gear should be able to get as low a drag as a Fixed Gear can get. And almost as simple. I haven't figgured how to use anything but struts (would live to use a low maintence composite, but no flex, right?) As usual I wait for your patient and thoughtful responses. Spodman
Simple? By adding moving parts? Unless you have some sort of oleo you will have a pogo stick. If you are going to shell out the $US5k for the Infinity gear I'd let it retract once and a while rather than leave it dangling with a fairing.
