OK, i hate spending money needlessly and king radios are expensive, but, we have decided on kings, any comments?

Everyione i've talked to seems to agree, they work great and last and last and last.

I've been into radios since I was a teenager. Both building (Heathkit) and fixing (CBs) them.

The amount of money I find that one has to spend on general aviation type radios is outragous. Just pick up an AES catalog and check out what the latest state of the art amateur radios are selling from from ICOM, Kenwood, Yaseau, Alinco. Kings sell for more than twice than what they are worth.

I'd suspect there are more Hams than airplanes which helps with the prices but King has A LOT more paperwork and expense to deal with then all the Ham gear does. I don't like the high prices either but what can you do?

This is experimental so you can use whatever radio you want - make your own if you know how. No need for all that TSO nonsense.
