Ray Kouns Posted June 7, 2003 Posted June 7, 2003 just wondering if any one else ran into the problem of having a fat spar on the ends where it butts up against the wing and how did you correct it. Quote
Jerry Schneider Posted June 8, 2003 Posted June 8, 2003 Don't know how "fat" you were... but I had to cut about 3/16" away from the top (and I think the bottom) edges of the wing to get things to line up. Ray Kouns Posted June 8, 2003 Author Posted June 8, 2003 thanks jerry I am alright at the top but looks like i'll have to trim some off of the bottom to get things level. and i thought I was so careful, i did it as per plans. So you just cut it off and reglassed over it with same amout of layers of glass ? Quote
Jerry Schneider Posted June 8, 2003 Posted June 8, 2003 No. I didn't trim the spar. I trimmed the wing "lip" to get thigs to line up laterally. I think maybe you were referring to vertical misalignment. Any minor misalignment in the vertical plane will be fixed later w/micro. I wouldn't trim the spar at all. Quote "I run with scissors."
