Hi Gang, So I am in a brand new adventure in the building of the VariEze! Working on making a cowling for it. I have it all roughed in (got a little more roughing in for basic surfacing to go. I am looking for advice on preparing for the final stage of surfacing. Do I use Pour Foam or do I use

Hi, This is a sort of cozy question about avionics. Jean-Pierre has an AFS 5600 which is advertised as compatible with dynon, jeppesen, pocketfms vfr maps. After weeks of pulling his hair out and countless calls to various tech supports, JP still has no luck at all in installing VFR maps from

I’m figuring I’m going to have to bite the bullet and buy the TSO strobes rather than take the risk of getting caught by the FAA or insurance company after an incident. Boy the $400 identical lights are tempting! Anyone recommend the best $1100.00 lighting system for price or reliability?

A while back... oh maybe 15 years there were people putting together canard simulators. I know some were using xplane to build sims for the cozy. Is that still around? -- Till Later

Cozy 0733. Working on chapter 19. Considering engine. Plans say" Do not use an engine with 6th or 8th order counterweights." I have a IO 360-A3B6D with about 250 hours since major overhaul. Came out of a Mooney M 20J. Empty weight of this engine is 299 pounds. It is a 200 HP wide deck engine.

Folks: If any of you are flying Aerocanard aircraft and currently have liability and/or hull insurance, please let me know who you use for an agent, who underwrites the policy, and how much it costs. I'm trying to get insurance for one, and apparently it's like needles in haystacks... Thanks.

Hi group, what brand and models of weather radar we can install in the cozy? Is the radar installed in the wings so you can see in the cockpit the clouds ahead?

Hi Instrument panel lighting , I never thought it is a issue , never installed one . I tried today to setup some led lighting to light up the instrument pane for late landings, I can see the reflection of the gauges canopy front of me , evening with very dim light , I would like to hear who had

Attached is photo showing the trench for the 2nd fuel vent lines installed per Zeitlin instructions. When I acquired this project from Burrall, he did mention there were areas of excess micro buildup ( > 1/8") from contouring and that I might want to remove and fill with foam & fiberglass. The

Folks: So I've got two OSH award winning aircraft in the hangar at the moment - one COZY MKIV, and one Long-EZ. The COZY is John Dembs' and as many have seen, it's a beauty, as well as being a reasonable weight and having very good (meaning nominal COZY MKIV) flight characteristics. The Long-EZ

Drawing M-25 shows the Winglet Bottom Tip Template, which says “*This side for LT. Transfer numbers to other side for RT*”. Doesn’t this side of the template face out when attaching it to the RIGHT (not LEFT!) side of the lower winglet foam block? All the plans' descriptions of the camber

Folks: A few weeks ago I posted to the COZY list that I will not be going to OSH this year and will not be doing the COZY Forum. I asked if there were a volunteer willing to do the forum who's been to a few, has a fair amount of canard/composite building/flying experience, and will be there

Dear all, Can anyone help me on providing information how to find protection covers (nose to propeller) for my MKIII? Highly appreciated in advance mates. Best,

The weather is warm, so I'm ready to repair my COZY. Since I didn't build the plane, the nose repair, whic should be trivial, is a problem. Some elementary questions: 1) Can I mix epoxy in a plastic cup? The plans recommend using an unwaxed paper cup because the wax will contaminate the

*ADS-B Light* If you own a light-sport or experimental aircraft, you have the option to use uncertified ADS-B Out equipment if you want to fly in ADS-B rule airspace in 2020. But there are some important details you’ll need to consider. Take a closer look by reading the article “ADS-B Light” at

Hi Group, are the tubes bended only to avoid a collision with the mags or is there a dynamic / resonance whatever background? Can we just go straight? What do you know? Thanks, Pierre-André Miquel, Long-Ez 609

I am building a AeroCanard and building in chapter 18. For whatever reason there is a omission of materials list for chapters 15 through 18. My question is, the foam between the aft side of the main spar and the plywood firewall calls for 1/4 inch Last-A-Foam but not say what density. I have

Hello to the group I am in the process of wiring my new radio panel and I am joining the wiring list and the wiring schematic for interested people. I have not fully finished to fill in the wiring list. I will send you the finalised version when it is available. Each wire will be labelised

There have been discussions in the past about brake disk radiation heating of the composite gear legs and I remember the recommendation for measuring the temperature on the gear leg as a way to at least be aware that you may be getting close to a problem. I've run a K-type thermocouple down the

From Home Depot or Lowe's you could buy an easy sand 90, 45, 20 whichever speed you would like it to dry out. It works like regular mud dries much faster and won't crack when applied thick should you decide to go to the drywall mud route.Dave G COZY IV Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy
