This mail for the general Cozy_Builders group; I use Wilhelmson’s nose gear extension unit on my Cozy IV. When I select “gear down” there's a green light that illuminates while the gear is in motion, but then goes dark when the gear is fully extended. What if the LED circuitry just failed and

I finally completed (except for cosmetic filling and painting) the repairs following my gear-up landing. When I finally got around to it, it was really rather easy. I did a taxi test this morning (visibility was 1/4 mile in fog), and everything seems fine. One unrelated squawk; the strobes are

I know James Redmon has experience with AkzoNobel IR-reflective paint – does anyone else have experience painting their composite airplane with it? It’s finally time to paint Atalanta (N6212). I actually like her in primer, but I really have to sell her at some point in the next couple of years

Hello everyone on the BCC list. I just want to tell everyone in my address book that I'm still alive and kicking in Oviedo, FL! I know I haven't communicated with many of you in a long, long time. I hate excuses, but I had a computer crash about 2 years ago and lost all of my emails and

I finished the repair of the nose and reinstallation of nosegear for my COZY III. (I know I have some finishing to do). In response to a Keith Spreuer's suggestion, I installed a thicker NG5. This was a mistake, as the thicker plate did not permit the nose gear to pivot through the required

Folks: So after performing a CI on a Long-EZ that had a nice Dynon Skyview system in it, but for unknown reasons had not had an ammeter shunt installed (always read zero amps, no matter what), I was discussing the options with the owner. AFAIK, there are three ways to install an ammeter

A mailing list member asked privately, but I thought the answer might be useful for many people: Brakes: 1. Which is the optimum brake line to run from the nose to the MLG > bulkhead? > 2. For that brake line, what size I D and O D ? > 3. Which is the optimum brake

I am working toward installing my fuel pump and would like to get the group's collective wisdom. I have a Lycoming IO360 with mechanical fuel injection with no fuel return. My first idea is to install the booster pump on the engine side, thinking I should keep the high pressure fuel out of the

At Sun and Fun, I bought a GRT Sport EX EFIS. IT has controls for autopilot. On this list, are there some Long EZ owners that have installed the servos and if so, how and where did you install the servos. Thanks Ron

Yesterday, while taking an inventory of my epoxies, I found a full gallon of MGS L285 resin. The problem is that I use the 335 system. The receipt shows L335 so somebody must have grabbed the wrong jug and didn’t notice the label. The vendor exchanged it without a problem and assured me that

Please see the attached photo...Questions:1.) Is there enough clearance between the MLG and the fuselage to avoid damage with most bad landings? (getting ready to install a fairing here too)2.) What is a good way to keep insects out the the vent tube shown in the photo? Thanks!Andrew

I'll apologize in advance as this is not directly related to building a Cozy but it will indirectly help me to acquire one and also make a donation to the RAFE program later this year. If anyone is or has knowledge of a reputable 'money finder' that connects small businesses with investors or
