I agree w/Steve 100% and I will!! I mean for goodness its just a short ride in plane and they will always remember your name and say good things about you unless u r a bad pilot- I would be very happy giving rides to people let them share the wonderful time in somthing u built (just my thoughts)

I am a 43yr old who has done nothing but worked 6 to 7 days a week sometimes for several months at time with no days off for the last 23 yrs ( I work in the Hvac trade) And I have been wanting to build my on canard for years and I am to a point where I can start now-i have enough foam to build a open ez fusalage or start a cozy( still on the fence) leaning toward the open-ez but will see after Rough River 09.Thanks (KOOL RAY)southwest Texas

Well I am the kinda man that does not like to impose or bug somebody for somthing but I would lick the sweat off a bulls nut sack to catch a short hop in a long-ez and a cozy to get the feel for the one that feels right for me.Now that is a very interested man in these wonderful planes-or should I just wear a t-shirt that say's I drove over a 1000 miles to see this sexy planes because I will be doing just that.Maybe that will get me a hop in both planes-because I don't have enough connections yet to do so.Even if I don't ask for a ride are no one offers I will be very happy just to see them and get names and #s of other builders and pilots to help with any problems should any come up.Anyway my drive will be worth every mile I drive.Thanks (KOOL RAY)southwest texas builder.

Hello all-I have been researching homebuilts for many years and received cozy plans #1569 last fall.But the openez maybe changing my mind I will be solo most of the time.The group of people hear have really gave me lots ofgood info and ideas I will be going to Rough River 09-it is a 18 hour drive from here. But I would like to sit in a longez to feel it there was a guy hear who had one but he sold it after he had a problem in a fedex aircraft delivering its load to San Angelo TX it went down 15 miles from airport-he was injured to the point he could not fly anymore:( mr morris was his name.So if anybody knows of one around San Angelo TX and they don't mind someone sitting in it for a few fantasy moments please let me know. PS I would drive a good distance to do this 3-4 hours is fair one way considering where I live in the middle of know where texas but I love it here.I thank all who have replied to all my postings.Thanks (KOOL RAY)

I searched( Grove landing gear) and I really like the idea of there style of gear I seen a picture of a velocity or a sq r what ever that model is in a building phase it looks a lot less labor-russ and I read it was 8ft wide.Any remarks good or bad? Oh yea the cost of the model that I need is double the cost of the other models for u know spam cans how come I wonder hmmm:(

Has anybody thought about installing a BRS in or outside of a canard? 1 of my mods is to make mine a 1 seater cozy style canopy rear hinged W/turtleback(I seen on for sale on barstormers that was like this-Also I seen one guy ( DB dillion ) I think that was his name he has a webpage and I saw a BRS cannister w/him and I thank he has installed it in his longez I could be wrong.If you thank that this could be done I could use the instructions and photos to do this-or maybe( dillion) could help me out with this mod.Thanks (KOOL RAY)

Well I am a hvac tech-and for last 15 years never had no time to focus on anything but work 7 days a week - I moved to San Angelo TX from Nashville TN after 8 yrs as an installer.But now I still work as a hvac tech but work 4-10hr days 3 days off hehehe no overtime so now I can FOCUS it looks like I will build a open-ez.I may decide to sell my cozy plans to buy a epoxy pump-the only thing I need to start- I have a nice supply of building stuff like foam- glass bubbles-flox- peel ply other tools but no pump yet.As far as honey do's/ I had a medium house fire 8 months ago and I have re-done evey room in my home except 1 tub- waterheater rock the fireplace-and replace 6 window's-so there should be no more do's after those.But u r right they(wives) will always find something they want to change thanks (KOOL RAY)

I posted yesterday but maybe did something wrong but I will try today.I have been researching planes way to LONG hehehe- so this year I will be driving 16-18 hours( no ppl yet) to RR to see as many longs and cozys as I can I have cozy plans #1569 but then I read about the open-ez. The open-ez will fit my mission better than a cozy hope there is no hard feelings.I have enough foam and glass- flox-bubbles and other building supplies to build a long-ez fusalage r get started on a cozy(yes I do have terf cd- templates-plans printed out ready to go I have 7 honeydews to do before she will let me start.But I really have had a lot of fun visiting here great motivation over the last 7 yrs.Mfryer looking good I check w/your page daily looking for something new to see r read u r building a open-ez correct?Emailed cozy1200 he responded very fast I hope this means if I have ?s they maybe fast help any way I will be at RR9 hope to meet a lot of new planecrazy guys thanks (KOOL RAY)

I got my cozy plans last summer.Ordered a large supply of supplies to build it-Than I found the openez:)!I always wanted a longez but will not pay that high price for the plans.If I do build a openez- I do have the terf cd printed out templates and plans to paper in a 3 ring binder w/ many other doc's.Will I be looked down on by longez pilots and builders when I or other openez guys show up at Rough River are any other fly-in's? P.s I have found out how to post.You will see me post a lot more in future I have been looking at (one guy calls plane porn) for 11 years now I'm redy to build can someone here help me make a choice?I I will fly alone mostly longez fits my mission more than a cozy- but don't want to make any bad friends w/that choice.OR should I not care what other people say-I'll have my openez to do what I want with;) thanks (KOOL RAY)
