  1. If you throw it into the air and it comes down then it weighs too much...who wasit again that said that?
  2. After landing and slowing to about human running speed my LongEZ has a nasty little wobble during braking only seems like it is one of the mains. If i release the brakes then it stops. It also seems worse if i have a passenger. I watched the nose for shimmy thru the window and it is rock solid. Mine has the flox added as suggested in the CPs so i am not sure what it could be. Anyone have a suggestion? Thank you
  3. With a little diligence and research you can do the same thing Beagle does and save yourself the 1-2% "finders" fee. Just don't be in a hurry and remember that the deal of a lifetime comes along about once a week.

  8. Not being an expert on composites, I have listened to many discussions. This post curing of composites in the sun seems to "fly" in the face of other things that I have heard about UV deterioration of epoxy structures. Do you put sunscreen on the unfinished components prior to placing them in the direct sunlight? Or maybe; is this limited time in the direct sunlight not enough to be concerned about?

I had someone mention to me the other day that they were going to use MobilOne Synthetic oil in their Lycoming O-235 because he had heard of someone else getting better Static and cruise RPM by using synthetic oil. What is the general consensus on using Synthetic engine oil in these old technology engines?
  10. I am fairly new to the CZ but I have looked around and have not found a recent discussion or question about converting my L2C to fuel injected. I have a Bendix system from an IO360 sitting around that seems like it would/could be easy to install. Will this system work on my O235? Has anyone done/attempted this? What are the issues? Is it worth doing? I have heard people say that the 235 is notoriously bad at air distribution and that fuel injection would not help anything.
  11. Well this (so far) confirms what I have been thinking up to now. I have been between both the Dynon D100 and the Grand Rapids Sport. Does someone know if either (or both) of these will "play" with my Terra TN200 Nav? I assume that they both will "play" with my Garmin 696.
  12. That a/c will be really nice when you are done. I like the armpit windows for the GIB. I tried to fly mine from the backseat (not solo) the other day and both the EFIS and windows would have been a big help in the landing flare.

Help, I am looking to replace some of my steam gauges (ADI, DG, AS, VVI, ALT) with one of the many "big box" EFIS' offered by Dynon, Grand Rapids, Blue Mountain, Garmin, MGL (I could go on for a while). Has anyone seen (or created) a "Consumer Reports" style report or spreadsheet on what each has to offer? When I look on Spruce there are about 8 or 9 models offered (with multiple offerings by some manufacturers), but not much information. I am looking for a basic single (not much room on my panel) 6 pack EFIS that I can tie my Terra TN200 Nav and Garmin GPS into so that I can fly some light IFR (I would not mind integrated GPS and Autopilot as well). I really do not want to start a big discussion about redundancy or have someone rant about one of these companies poor customer service either. Just the facts please. My DG has gone bad recently so instead of popping $500 to fix it I would rather upgrade. Thank you. Oscar
