  1. I have a todds canopy myself. I talked to Steve V and he told me what to do. Take a look at my website and see the pictures of that install. I have more detailed pics if you need them. I am 6'2 like Steve V. He told me to use a 3 inch piece of foam and place it on the top of the headrest. That was a real good idea cause it gave it a 3rd place to rest while you secure it in the correct position. Prep the bottom of the canopy grinding .75 inches all the way around inside and out for glassing. I made dams all the way around the canopy to use pour foam for the shaping of the canopy frame. This method is SOOOO much easier and nicer then the plans way. Check out the pics on my website...but thats about the jist of it.

  2. Just to add a tidbit of information to this thread. I bought my Roncz canard from a 10th degree black belt master builder Dennis Oleman from Iowa. I paid him to build my canard and it came out so nice that it looks like it came out of a mold. It doesnt need much finishing to complete it. I have high res pictures of the canard if you want to see the detail. If you want to go that route instead of building I will give you his number.

  3. I have the templates for the nose of that "famous nose" number 32. Steve was very gracious to let me borrow his templates. My nose is almost exact to the templates. I am still contouring and shaping and hoping I can get close OR somewhat close to Steve V. nose.

  4. Chrissi,

I will be there or I will be square. Can't wait to see half of my motor mount for my 240 HP fuel injectected Renesis Rotary engine with the all the trimmings. ALSO...cant wait to eat some BBQ at the party. Is it still in the Hangar area?

Any way I got the itch back to build...winter is so lame and now that the days are longer and spring is in the air its good times again!!!

  5. Here is a mod to replace the door on the LongEZ. The mod catches the stock canopy latch knob and with a turn of the key from the outside....the groove of the brass fitting rotates around the knob locking it down. The key is inserted through a little 1/4 hole that is drilled in from the outside. Cool isnt it????

  7. I went to RR this year as I did the past 3 years. Each year is getting better and better. I had a special treat this year. I am building a Long EZ and had called the Cozygirls a few weeks earlier before RR about the control system. Chrissi had offered to build the whole assembly from bearing to bearing and everything in between Cozygirl style. She put together a perfect machine percision system using forked handles as the Cozy IV Plans use and pressed sexy bearings that makes the controls feel so silky smooth. I will never have to worry about slop in my control system. Thanks Cozygirrls :D

I will have to take a picture of the assembly and post it here.
